We played 11 players who had hardly played together or haven’t had a game this season, against a team that plays together week in/week out. Some of those players wouldn’t usually get a chance apart from a game like this, where they can try and prove.

I had no expectations whatsoever about this game when I seen the line-up and it was just a matter of what Cheltenham would bring.

The changes made the game, that’s when I thought we could still do it towards the end.

Many good points Beefy, however you still need players to put in the hard yards in these games, some of our players thought they could just turn up and win, you know who they are too

You see us scoring?

Yes I do. They will tire as the game goes on

You're an optimistic fella. Till we get a striker we're in deep doodoo

We scraped through. Absolutely agree we need a forward as we will struggle to win bigger games with what we have currently. It looks like we are pinning our hopes on Aguero returning soon which I am not convinced about at all. Next game please

Enjoyed that, City are back. Fair play to Cheltenham like Chorley last night played very well. Onwards.

Didn’t really see them not trying, just more of an understanding and confidence in the players around them. I was very surprised to see Cheltenham pressing the way they were, they were everywhere, and that has to be taken into account.

Doesn’t mean I don’t think they’re not good enough for our squad, just dispels the myth that our 2nd team would still compete in the league.

They game from start to finish was very enjoyable . It is a particular weakness these days that people are not able to respect the opposition when they play well and in this instance above their normal standard .

No doubt we were given a shock tonight and it needed a few changes to get the result.

It shows that even having a strong squad , players playing regularly together is very important .

It also shows that Mahrez and Mendy are extras in this squad.

I enjoyed it, mate. Enjoyed what Cheltenham were doing, smiled when that long throw got flicked into the net, and smiled even more when we made changes.

Swansea away will be a tough match. Second in the Championship at the moment. Will need a stronger team and a much better performance.

Proper FA cup tie on a terrible small pitch . A few city squad players let themselves down and didn’t really step up and Mendy was his usual abysmal waste of space and money . Well done Cheltenham and what the fuck were those fireworks about ?

Exactly.
I don't know what was to enjoy out of this.
Cheltenham was great, fair play to them, but we were arrogant and almost cost us. We played again the astronomical shower of shit called Mendy, Garcia for fuck knows the reason why, Mahrez who is a outer disgrace to the "pro" term.
The fact we had to put in three out of our best players to beat them is a big worry towards some of the players we have and how they can fuck things when it really matters.

I especially enjoyed the fireworks. Turned the sound up and everything.

Wouldn’t pay for it myself but anything that blows shit up is alright by me ;-)

Many years ag, back in the day as they now say, I played a game of crown green bowls on the George and Dragon green in Hyde. I was very young, I was drawn against a player who had won the Waterloo, the top competition in the north west, the book makers made him odds on. I played the game of my life, tried my bollocks off, and won.
The point I am making is, this guy thought he could just turn up and win against a park green player, but through concentration and focus I won, that’s what you have to do in all sport.
The player I beat was Joe Bradbury a left hander like me

Yeah. Enjoyable for the neutral. Can't see how City fans would enjoy that

We were crap, Mendy needs shipping, pay the Mafia to make him disappear and claim our money back from insurance, What's the point playing Garcia when he's fucking off soon. Doyle was bit lightweight and could have imposed himself better, however I can see developing and becoming better.
Foden was majestic.

Quite frankly, couldn't careless about the performance, we're in the next round, play shit and pick up the results is a great sign.

As for a striker, there no way top tier strikers are available in this window, well have to wait until summer.

Agreed

Except anyone but Pep would sign a striker. Not a Pep player, a Lineker player, just to put the fuckin ball in the net

Proper game we saw a team give everything and our class came through. Fuck sake are we becoming rags or dippers. Watched it with my lad who has only seen long throws from delap. Sorry I love footballl when it’ is raw but surprisingly good from Duffs team.

That’s grand, agree, but it doesn’t excuse some of our players not giving a fuck, like Mendy and Garcia, also Mahrez is a fucking eunuch
