Hopefully we've learned the lesson when Vinnie left and we did not replace him, however, the world had a year when people lost their lives and savings. Paying 600K per week to Haaland would be a travesty.
So, looking at the circus, there is also a big chance we will not sign him. So, in case that happens, who do you want or who do you think it will be our alternative?
Kane, Lukaku, Martinez ... Ings?.

Difference is when vinny left he was a pivotal player and our captain. With Aguero he has barely played this season and isnt a natural leader so the impact will be much less.
I watched Ings yesterday, with the prices being quoted for the alternatives id be ok with him coming in cheap.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont want Ings, injury prone and basically just not at a level where he would improve us. Cant see the point.
Rather we go elsewhere.

Bamfords had a great season and ticks a lot of boxes for me - would cost a fraction of haaland

Sure, but we showed there is no one there to score when is needed and we are down (see vs Rags, or Spuds earlier).
Sure, the false 9 thing worked, but there will be moments when we need a goal out of nowhere.

I'd pass on Ings. He'd just be on the bench all the time and probably not that significant of an upgrade to block path for youngsters.
I can't look pass Lautaro Martinez on this. Rarely have I seen more Pep type of attacker. Pep doesn't care that much about strike rates but creating XG and being able to overload situations in his Positional Play ideals. Martinez can be moved around as a chess piece and can play traditional 9, false-9, Ten and even top of the six man midfield if needs be. He is very good at driving and dribbling, two things Pep value more than anything. I don't know if we can afford him but it's guaranteed Pep is drooling over him.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Agree completely. Been wanting him for a few years now. There was a story back in November of him only being on around £50k a week at Inter. Mental when you think we probably paid Bony the same

I wish the name Ings just disappears, that's a backward signing. Are we really into vermin rejects now???
Martinez - there is something about him I can see exploding in the premier League, I think he's wasted at Inter. He reminds me of Saurez at vermins, wasn't special before they signed him, I can see the same situation with Martinez.

I'd have a whistle for the other lad at Villa - young Ollie Watkins, he's quicker than Gabby and more prolific.

We’re better than that JC. The guy is 26 this year and has 11 goals in 29 games. Dog shit.

Calvert-Lewin looks tasty and in a decent offensive side would create and score a lot.
And would the lad at Brentford, Toney, be worth a look at. Scored 28 this season in the Championship which is no mean feat. At 26 age is probably against him as is lack of top flight goals. But he clearly knows where the net is

TBH, out or everyone I've watched, Calvert Lewin is the standout.
But then I never watch foreign league football, so cannot comment on Martinez.
And or course, I didn't know who Aguero was before we signed him, let alone if he was any good.

Most off putting stat of Calvert Lewin is he scores 90% of his goals from 6 yards out or less , deffo not a pep type player and would almost certainly struggle in our team .
Not really here
Fuck VAR

I am very ”afraid” of Martinez.
He reminds me a lot of Jesus.
But he is an argie and we love argies.

I think Martinez is a good call as long as we don't let him near a penalty.

Alternative to Haaland, part from bringing up a youngster from our own?
Well I would not be surprised if Alexander Isaks name would come up, from Real Sociedad. Fast striker with good tecnique with both feets and head. Him and Haaland are among the top under 21.

I’d have Ings over all them. Those 3 remind me of signings we’d have buzzed over under Pearce.
