Knowing that I made the thread, I think who voted "Lump of shit" were sure I was refering to Sterling, the other lump of shit in our squad and my heart.

I only voted for Ruben Dias. Lot of people who have improved and played really well but he has just been a revelation.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I would love to hear explanations for John Stones.

For my money it’s his turnaround from washed up old tramp who didn’t look like a professional footballer never mind a PL player, to forming a solid partnership with the aforementioned Dias. Dias wins it, but as there were three nominations Stines IMO deserved it

Stones would be battling with Gundogan for most improved player, but nowhere near a contender for best player. He's not even in our first XI in terms of appearances (13th in PL, 15th in all comps).

Walker was great in the first half of the season when we were a bit off form so he gets a vote from me. Gundogan and Foden the other two.

My point exactly. Sure he has improved from terrible depths where he was but I wouldn't consider him to be even among ten best players we've had this season. Even KdB with his supposed "down season" has been ten million times better player.

You genuinely wouldn’t consider Stones in our top 10 players this season?

How many clean sheets? It wasn’t all Dias.

It was mostly Dias. I can't even begin to explain how his movement and positioning covered lot of Stones errors and gave him the liberty to do what I suppose he does best ie throw himself in for 50/50 challenges.

I completely disagree with your evaluation of Stones (this season). He has made goal saving blocks, last ditch important tackles and even scored important goals. His whole demeaner has changed and that owes a lot to his own personal growth and development. He has really pulled himself back from the dead in terms of his City career and that isn't all Dias. Forming that great partnership has obviously been a huge factor, but a partnership isn't just one person. The way he plays from the back also helps set the tempo for the way we play and his rejuvenation has been pivotal in our amazing run this season, particularly as Laporte had suffered his own dip and Ake was injured.

Those 4 were my picks too, with Stones until last week!

Mahrez and Stones have turned around a lot of Anti feeling, Foden brilliant in and out. Gundo eased off on all the scoring but still looks another class when comes on the pitch. But it's Dias that's changed us fundamentally isn't it? Surely.

I agree Dias has changed us, and we’ve got a young leader that should (fingers crossed) be around for years most likely captaining the team.

But for winning goals and actual outstanding performances I’ve gone with Foden. He’s changed games when he’s come on as a sub, winning goals, loads of energy when the team needs it. THAT goal at Liverpool.

I too was confused by seeing Sterling further up the list. That's how I feel about him right now.

Gundo & Phil were easy choices, then it got a bit harder, but the more i thought about it Dias had to be my third option.

Gundo stepping up and getting some vital goals and changing our fortunes round after what was (understandably) shakey start to the season.

Phil, has arrived and isn't going back to bench warming very often except for rotational purposes, we are seeing what everyone has said about Stockports Iniesta & the most exciting thing about it is (fingers crossed) another 10+ years of him improving year on year at our club.

23yrs old, new country and the way he's bossed it and improved our defence beyond recognition, no doubt instrumental in Stones stepping up like he has. Further testimony in the fact quite a few on here want him as club captain next season speaks volumes.

Dias by a country mile for me. Came in after the 5-2 defeat at home to Leicester and like Kompany did for years makes whoever he partners look good.
I'd have Gundo 2nd and Mahrez 3rd, both been dead consistent all season.
Phil will I'm sure be PFA Young Player of the Year, doesn't just get goals but gets important goals at crucial times.
Shows how blessed we are that Kev isn't getting a mention- in 36 games this season he's scored 8 and got 17 assists more than anyone else in the league.

Cancelo has gone off the boil a bit recently, but he had a great few months as well. We’ve had some top performers this season.

Dias for me.
Sorted out our achilles heel for us in jig time.
That defence problem was an open sore for a long time.

Without Dias we would not be challenging on all fronts this season.

Id love to agree, I nearly voted Foden first, however Dias gave us the platform, You can't win silverware without solid defence. As much as Foden been great, game changer, Dias laid the foundations
