I’m not going to read this thread in case there is some gushing comment about the Trannyed one.

Just to say, thank fuck for that!

Why should they, rags signed a 36 year old show pony who will complicate team selection and maybe hold back development of younger players

Giddy fifa fan boys are all excited though .

Reality will dawn when their small dicks are sore after the wankfest. And when St Marcus et al are all pissed off.

I bet the anti Glazer protests will die out now that lady boy is back and all is well with the world.
Coincidence that isn't it, make you wonder if that is why it was done

540k a week, just think about that for a while.
After today's efforts, its obscene money for a rapidly aging player they don't even need.

The more I think about it, the more I think we set them up.
Once they thought we were interested, they just had to bite.

Dont forget that's his after tax salary. Makes his gross in the region of 840k a week. Over £40M a year. And I'll wager he got a signing on fee of at least 10M as well. On a 2 year deal. With a transfer fee he will likely cost the rags a good £100M or so for 2 years.

But not at the figures the rags are paying. We presumably presented what we were willing to pay to his agent which was presumably rebuffed which is then when the rags stepped in.

And pretty much the same for Messi I guess.

Neville spot on re why Glazers signed Ronaldo - they had to. To much unrest if he came to us.
Also think he is correct when he says Ronaldo signing is not enough for Rags to win PL.

Disagree with him when he says they have signed a leader, he will do everything right so Rags will get +10% improvement from the squad, etc...
Not a chance IMO.
He will do everything that is right for himself, make demands of others and not take responsibility for shit that to goes wrong.
His ego will upset the other egos like Pogba, Sancho, Martial, etc... Also causes an issue with team selections and tactics. OGS will not be able to control this.
It could all go pear shaped very quickly. Wishful thinking maybe but probable nonetheless (despite VAR).

I reckon the wage bill at the swamp will go up 60+M with his signing. Made up of his wages which are eye watering to say the least and increases for a number of other players.

Again, how can a club that have 450+ mil debt can sign players for 150+ mil? Can pay these wages?
How can a catalan club with a debt over 1 bil. can still play in Europe?

Hello UEFA? Hello FIFA? Hello media?

It depends on his payment structure. They may have put clauses in (like we do) to structure his income to be a small part wages, and the bulk bonuses. I don't know if top-earner parity clauses apply to bonuses, or if there will be clever work-arounds included his contract, but I honestly can't see them paying (at least) 3 players the reported 480k per week.

Yes it’s a ridiculous amount, but how much will he make them? Share price has gone up, shirt sales, etc.

They will have made the transfer fee back in shirt sales alone since the transfee on friday. Imagine that they will also get a kick back from adidas for this as well. Think overall that we have done well with this. They could not allow him to come to us and now he is there, he is going to rock the boat as other posters have said. Expect it to cost Bruce his job next time out when they get smashed at the swamp but in the grand scheme of the PL, he won't be pulling up many trees for them

A share price rise is only worth anything if you sell some or all of those shares, which their owners are not doing. Otherwise it's just money on paper.
As for shirt sales, I read a good article that explained how this is a myth. A club gets cash up front from the shirt supplier for the contract to supply, which they've already had. After that, they get a small percentage of the price of each shirt sold (usually after reaching a set number of initial sales). This percentage for PL clubs ranges from 2% to about 7%. The only exception of note was the dippers latest deal, where they negotiated 20%. Not sure what the average rag shirt price worldwide would be, but even if it was £50 and they were at the higher end of the 2-7 percent range, that's a shit load of extra sales required to make up his wages!
