Bring One Player

Postby PeterParker » Fri Sep 03, 2021 7:22 am

Bring one player from either early 00, 90, 80, 70 or the 60s to the current squad.
Who would it be and why?

Tiatto. Just because he was my favourite player and he’s better than Mendy.

If I'm using the time machine I'll use a current squad player but knock 10 years off his age.
Peak Fernandinho.

Paul Lake for me. He would fit seamlessly into this team in a variety of positions.

i would bring either brian Kidd or Franny lee, as both scored goals and would get a boatload with this team, and Franny would SCORE pens

This

I’ll never forget employing a best mate of Kinkys , back when we set up a Casino in Greece ,back in the mid 90,s — at the interview I asked him where he was from and he said Georgia and that’s when I told him about Kinkladze at City and this guy jumped off his seat and shouted out “he’s my best friend “ -it was even funnier as he lost all composure in the middle of a job interview .

I obviously employed this chap and he sent me a signed City top which the stupid fucking maid fucked up as she put it in the washer and fucked up the signature !!

Anyway - yes , bring back Kinky (in his prime , he would be worth 250 million if we had him now , especially in this team)

He was way ahead of his time when he played for us ,,,way ahead of everyone else .

Is there a reason why he played in a 90s City side that got relegated twice and not in a team that were challenging for league and European titles?

Yeah, the club was ran like dog shit and we had managers that were the equivalent of Phil Brown.

From memory he was offered the chance to go to Barca when we were relegated but stayed with us.

From City he went to Ajax who was a European semifinalist at that time. Strong as fuck.
I think he had a major injury there, if my memory is correct.

Maybe it was because he 'allegedly' got a house in Switzerland when he signed for us............... ;)
