Sterling and Jesus.....cannot rely on any of them to win us 'must win matches'.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Neither of them played in our last "must win" match.

Look how that turned out!

Hazy mate, we can still win the league and discuss, on a forum, different bits about the club. That’s what a forum is for.

People moan about this person or that person making posters leave the board, but the reality is barely anyone makes new threads anymore. The ones that do will get a couple of replies and that’s it. That’s the reason the forum is slower these days - barely anyone engages in conversation.

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve noticed a few occasions where posters have been encouraged to start a new thread - “this deserves its own thread”. People seem scared to start threads. We need more interaction on here.

At the end of the day Mase football is about opinions, and we all have one.

no-one else might say so i will, but his has been mentioned.
The main reason that less people engage is that they end up in a shouting match. Other members reading that kind of thing all the time just wont bother then posting. Because they would be here to have a football discussion and NOT a shouting match. there is a fucking big difference.

Ive also noticed it has changed a bit very recently - as vitriol or slagging and even shouting has gone out of fashion a bit. init?

Anyways, i'd only sell Sterling - but only if we had someone lined up who was as direct as he is, cos if not we would miss him. i think he should go at some point as he is often the weak link with his passing and poor decision making. But he never stops and is massive threat to oppo teams. We could get away with just Grealish, but that means he would have to be on top form constantly.

I went through old threads a couple of weeks ago, some from years and years ago. It was the same back then, people argued. It’s noticeable more now because there’s less posters in my opinion.

I would do. He played well from the right at the start of the season and I still think there’s something in him.

Jesus didn't turn out be lethal, like Kun was
Maybe our expectations haven't helped us assess him.

He has been well good at times and is a class squad player to have.

So keeps as he is also still young

And we seem to be buying a lot of young Brazilians. He could help them acclimatise.

Yes they did, but it was more football opinion argument and less personal slaggin off.
I mean you say there are less posters, so why is that? imo it is because it got too vitriolic, not about football and more like a school playground.
( i would add that is not unlike in society in general in these last few years, lost the art of having a good argument basically )

He still has a chance to be really good, i kind of don't think that will happen, but he still looks a bit immature to me so he might 'click'
anyway we dont lose much by giving him another two years we would still get good money for him

Given our recent record in selling in terms of fees received. I would be reluctant to sell anyone.

The real Sterling would be very hard to replace.
The imposter who has been around for most of the past 18 months would not.

IMO Sterling was not brought on against Palace because they were sitting so deep he would have been less effective than those already on the pitch. He is best with a player to beat who has spece behind them, then Sterling can use his speed to exploit the space.

If we get a central striker Sterling could be key to supplying him with chances.

So I would not let Sterling go but I think it will be his decision. If he does not sign that new contract pronto he has to go.

There are two or three angles on this question
The first is us as fans as to who we like/dislike
The second is the club angle considering such things as when contracts expire, what of our targets are available, where we are with succession planning on different areas
And the third is a financial angle and could be how much other clubs are willing to pay for one of our players and whether we can source a replacement at good value

I would happily see Sterling sold. He is also near the end of his contract. We have other players who can play out wide. But the manager likes him and we are unlikely to now receive a decent fee for him do he will likely stay.

If reports are true Bernardo wants to go back to Portugal or even Spain in a couple of years when his contract is up the the smart business decision is to sell him now as we would get decent money. But the playing angle suggests he should stay

Even our best player, KDB, cant be excluded from this conversation. Clearly playing wise we want to keep him. But if a club offered silly money, then at 30 and with his salary consideration, from the business angle we would consider replacing him earlier than we would have planned for.

Fern isnt going to get much first XI game time next season as his legs will have gone even more than this season. But what a guy to have in the dressing room and on the training field. Still our best leader by a distance so on that basis I'd keep him even though we need cover for Rodri.

Unlikely to be sold as I don't think there will be a buyer out there but I wouldn't be sad to see Grealish move on. I know hes only had a season but he isn't the right fit for us IMO and the money could be better used elsewhere
