you can bet that the tout that robbed them has an account at Standard Chartered !

However in reality , if they transferred money to a bank account , or indeed whereever . They should be able to get the money back.

Why?

They have paid the money out of their own volition. If it turns out to be not what they thought it was then hard luck. Who is to say they aren’t in a scam together with the ticket touts do they both get their money?

Zero sympathy from me I’m afraid

zero sympathy? you're a nice bloke... could easily have been some of us if it hadn't been for the team's brainfart in madrid. this issue is down to the cunts at uefa only giving 25% allocations to fans of the finalists forcing folk onto the black market.

Very true about the ticket allocation. But that’s been the case for ever.

I’d suggest if someone can afford to take a chance on buying a ticket for one match for a grand, then they can either afford it and if it turns out to be a fake then chalk it up to life, or they are incredibly foolish if they can’t, which is where my sympathy doesn’t exist. It isn’t a scam where folks are cold called and are tricked into sending money or paying money on the promise of better things

Very harsh Nottsblue - maybe some of those who paid a grand saved up for a dream day somewhere , be it a dream holiday or going to a CL final .

Not everyone who pays a grand on “anything”is rich mate .

If they paid by credit card they will get it refunded, a few years ago wife and I got some Bruce Springsteen tickets, they were fake, cut a long story short we were refunded after the card company confirmed the scam, if they paid by debit card they are fucked

My mate (scouser)

Went out to Kiev without a ticket, got offered one for €200 and was happy to take the punt but when got the cash out of ATM the fella upped the price €1800 !!

He could afford it if legit, but wasn't prepared to take the gamble at the higher price. Apparently quite a few fell for it.

So he watched it in a bar with a load of other scouse. His Airbnb that night was a bed made up of pallets and a piss ridden mattress

But my point is the scam level on these types of things is far higher than regular tickets. So fans should take that into account when shelling out that the is a higher than average chance of the tickets not being legit and such proceed only if they can afford to lose it, whatever the cost.

The rags announce further increase in their debt and extended losses. And no CL to fall back on next year. Glorious

Simon Jordan will pretend to be intellectual by repeatedly using the words landscape and scenario before mentioning a big bag of money. The bloke is a knobhead. He failed spectacularly at Palace and, curiously, had a lot of money himself.

Simon Jordan is a great example of the new breed of people who have attached themselves to football.

For them, it is nothing to do with the game, they are not football people, for them football is all about money, income and maximising profit.
Football needs income to survive, succeed and evolve but it seems to have forgotten the game.

UEFA, the major Euro Leagues, the FA and the Premier League PLC have become very successful at making money. They have industrialised the game by allowing global bankers and financiers to control the game that they know nothing about nor care.
Coaches and players have become workers who though well recompensed at the top level are being overplayed causing more physical breakdowns and muscular injuries,.... But to the financiers, their is a huge reservoir of next generation replacements.
And saddest of all, the football communities, the fans and those of us who consider the game as all important have become customers

To be fair to Jordan , he’s palace through and through and made that investment due to his passion for the club .

Having said that , anyone that loses 10,s of millions and goes broke, deserves to go broke .
