Probably about right as he’s unproven.

Hope he does well. Ireland have good goalkeeper pedigree. Would be good to have another Packie Bonner / Shay Given.

Strange. Looks like a steal for Southampton.
Bazunu's potential is huge. He has all the required attributes to make it at the very top level.
He is Ireland's No.1, ahead of Kelleher and how much would Liverpool get for Kelleher?
He is young (20) so he may not make it, but his potential and what he has achieved to date, is worth a lot more than £10M.

This really is a strange one.

I won’t why we’re not loaning him out again instead of selling. Unless he’s openly told us he wants to be sold. Or we think Steffen isn’t going.

Possibly we rate Trafford higher??

He might not have long left on his contract or indicated he wouldn't sign a new one?

A goalie is an odd position in that the second choice has to be happy with not playing often. He probably assumes Ederson will be our custodian for a good number more years and he doesn't want to be left behind and with Forster leaving Saints there is more opportunity for game time there.

Not dissimilar to Angus Gunn a couple of years back. And we got good money for him too. Given he has never played a game for us and probably has never even been on the bench, £10+M with possible add ons or a sell on clause is decent business

Seems to be quite a bit of talk of the Benfica forward, Darwin Nunez, going to the dippers for somewhere in the region of £85M.

Don't they want their net spend trophy any more?

Liverpool's scouting system, transfer business and Klopp's coaching are so good that he will be worth £400M in jig time.
BTW if the transfer goes ahead, the media will be telling us that he is better than Haaland and Mbappe by the time kick-off comes round.

No net spend trophy for the scousers any more now that Barca can't afford to use them as a feeder club. They've currently got the hump with Bayern for only offering them 30m for the second bestist striker in the world (after Salah).

I would rather gave him go to the rags than Scouse.
He looked class and I am sure he was on our back-up list if we missed Haaland.

Not seen anything of him to comment on this other than is he fast enough to play kick and rush which is the dippers way?
Im liking that he may have been an option b or c IF we had not got Haaland and Alvarez - shows where we have moved up to

He is similar to Haaland, but less powerful.
He doesn't fit their system, but with they special juices anyone can.

Saints apparently are prepared to pay 10 million for Bazuna because Forster has joined spuds, I would have thought he was worth keeping and replacing Steffen as understudy, be interesting to see what happens here.

Another £10 million into the city transfer funds to replace Fernandinho. City twitter accounts saying we have a buy back clause on Bazuna which is obviously good if he smashes it as Saints number 1 keeper .
Not really here

He has a very good reputation in Ireland, so buy back clause would be good.

RE: the buy back clause. What happens if he smashes it this year and next summer Liverpool want to buy him? We get the first option to buy him but what if he doesn’t want to come back to us? Does he just stay at Southampton or would he be allowed to go to the other team?

Good Question , I don’t know tbh I guess if we say no he is free to go elsewhere , Not sure if he would be allowed to say no to us if we did exercise the buy back , like I say good Question

I'd assume any clause has to be agreed by the agent and thus by default the player himself

Seems to me that a buy back clause is just that. If after an agreed period of time, say two years, that we can buy him back for a set amount and the club and the player have no choice in the matter

There are also clauses which allow a club to have first dibs on the player or to be informed if he wants to move or the new club wishes to sell

I can't recall many, if any transfers being done on a buy back clause? Why would a player or agent agree to that? Far more common is the sell on clause. Indeed last summer we got another £15m or so from Sancho's transfer to the rags.

Let's say buy back clause is ten mill but the club value him at 20, they have to accept our ten mill but all other clubs would have to meet the club's valuation (20m).

Player still has to accept terms so he can turn us down but then has to stay where he is unless other team meet the valuation.

It happens a lot in Madrid, a lot of their players seem to leave early to come back, Mariano Diaz is a recent example

So it could be pointless if he turns us down then.

So Barca want Silva but can’t afford him apparently unless they flog de jong - would we get away with player plus cash for him?
