I'll tell you something we also know - City offered him an extension but what he wanted and didn't get was a regular starting place - we will miss him a lot because we have not signed a replacement.stupot wrote:" a cold blooded clinical finisher he isn't "

His choice to go, not impressed with his subsequent explanation either. As others have pointed out he was not short of minutes and probably just wanted to go back in his home town. The error is not replacing him - we are clearly short of pace up front as well as defensive and midfield cover. Our squad is far too small and we will lose the vital competition for places needed as injuries mount and options reduce. Still a couple of days before the window closes tho' so I live in hope of new blood (..... it's almost certainly not going to happen. Lodi to Forest was a real sickenernottsblue wrote:johnny crossan wrote:I'll tell you something we also know - City offered him an extension but what he wanted and didn't get was a regular starting place - we will miss him a lot because we have not signed a replacement.stupot wrote:" a cold blooded clinical finisher he isn't "

Out of curiosity JC what do you think we should have done? We offered an extension which presumably didn't meet Sterling's requirements which he then turned down. We then had the choice to either sell him and raise capital for other signings or keep him for the last year of his contract.
We chose the first option. Was that wrong in your opinion?
We'll see soon enough - let's hope we stay as lucky as in the last two gameszuricity wrote:^^^^^
why don't we just wait and see how Alvarez and Haarland get on this season , both are pacy and very very skilfull. I don't think we will miss Razza or Jesus at all . Albeit, Jesus has made a good start at the Arse .

if they'd won Raz would be have been hailed as their best buy since Drogba - which he still might beNick wrote:He was shit

They've won the CL since Drogba.
They've lost 2 in 5 with Sterling. He's scored 2 tap ins which was his trademark with us and 1 deflection.
They're all crying on TS how they need a Number 9 and Sterling isn't the answer.

Makes you wonder why they sold Werner and got shut of Lukaku and replaced them with Sterling. A striker and focal point he is not
