He did and it was frightening. Foden last year would have destroyed that geriatric rag cunt .

Part of the learning process. This is his first real dip in form. All players have one: look at Bernardo, KdB and Gundogan in the past and currently Rodri. He (like Rodri) needs to work hard to get through it, because he will get out of it and go back to being Phil Foden (or Rodri in the case of Rodri) again soon.
I think lack of competition for their places is a significant contributing factor - hopefully Grealish & Phillips will get fit and put some pressure on.

Good call.

Watch yourself, son, now that Sterling’s gone you are a prime target, even if you are one of us.

Turning into Ricky Edghill.

I think Foden has not signed his new contract yet.
This is really dragging on now, if that is correct.
It also means there is a problem behind the scenes. Only two seasons left on Phil's contract as it stands.

When contract negotiations drag on like this, a player's form usually suffers.

Our defence need sorting before forward players, to me that's more pressing. Do we drop Stones for Ake, do we drop both when Laporte returns?

P.s Grealish return should give Phil a good kick to his backside

For those just burying their head in the sand and think Phil Foden is having a good season you need to give your head a massive fucking wobble . He couldn’t even get the better of dinosaur Ashley Young , last season Young would have got owned by Phil .

Young may be geriatric but is still a mean defensive fullback - he was all over KDB too when tried his luck on the left.

We all know his quality, its still early days yet. It hasn't all been that bad.
He's 22, young players have dips, this is early September not early April. No need for all this panic stuff. He will get better they all will.

I agree with the above but it might not be as simple as form.
Why has he not signed a new contract?
He has been negotiating for 18 months and still no agreement (despite a couple of false dawns).
His current contract expires end of 23/24 season. Not that far away.
Sterling's form dived while contract negotiations were dragging on, negotiations which never got resolved.

Like any job, if you cannot reach agreement with your employer over terms and conditions, something is not right.
This can affect performance.

Made the right decisions 9 times out of 10 tonight and got fouled on countless occasions while doing so.

He just needs to concentrate like he did tonight and regardless who we're playing, he'll be a major problem.

Ps if pep was gone he'd be even better

AFAIK Phil Foden has not signed his new contract yet and his existing deal expires in 2024.
In general, the Foden I am watching now is inferior to the Foden I was watching two seasons ago.
Loss of form for players who get involved in difficult protracted contract negotiations is not unusual.
The negotiations have been on-going for the guts of two years now.
Phil is a generational talent, would hate to see him leave but until he signs on the dotted line anything is possible.

Anybody else concerned over this or is it only me?
