***City vs Seagulls Official Match thread***

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Players performances have to be affected with the World Cup less than a month away. If your WC place is secure then avoiding injury is a priority. Nobody wants to end up like Reece James and Walker.
If a player is playing for a place they will play like a demon, for ex, Jesus.
Therefore, the WC is affecting club performances.
Part of the reason why we are seeing inconsistent performances from some club players.

It's always been that way, but as you say mid season is a head fuck and one we knew was coming, similarly when they come back, its straigh back into the season, no rest, therefore unknown.

Whilst i appreciate and agree that playing for you country (especially at the WC) is the pinical of pretty much every player to lace his boots, since we became the entity/footballing force we are now. There are many a poster on here who have changed their stance.

Back in the day when one of Gods Own got selected to play for England we all got behind said player wishing them Gods speed. But since weve become.... well whatever you want call it, certain fans have reached a level of entitlement whereby playing for your country is not acceptable as you are "owned by the club".

Every little boys dream when i grew up (regardless of their allegance) dreamed of playing for their country.

This is one element of our new era that sits uncomfortably with me.

^^^^^

The Era to which you refer was when international travel was for the average punter unaffordable, ticket prices were reasonable and you could buy all types of drinks around the stadium not some sponsored crap forced on you by FIFA.

FIFA has made the World Cup an embarrassment. Corruption rules , not Football.

Year after year the FA has made sure players from the rags , scouse and Arse were picked . It was the same since before England won it .

Form or even skill simply doesn't enter into it .

People are tired of such bullsh.

Fifa and the Qataris are screwing the average punter over , you are supposed to rent a container for a few weeks ? what is that about ?

At least when you have a competion in any European country or the Americas , there is sufficient infrastructure for the fans .

Where are you going to get a local pint in Qatar ?

"The old Dromedary inn" ?

Anywhere you go to watch the World Cup,

whilst waiing between games there is something to do , to see.
Qatar , in so many ways is a disaster for Football and FIFA .

A six week break from football will do me a world of good , ready for boxing day.

Akanji was played out of position, so I wouldn’t judge a few fuck ups from him.

It would be like playing Haaland on the wing and wondering why he’s not skinning people.

Are you a complete retard or are you fighting for that title ?

So you knew we would struggle against Liverpool when you saw the lineup, which is complete horseshit all on it's own, but you then say you wanted the same lineup yesterday?

You're a special kind of stupid aren't you mongo?

V BRIGHTON: Ederson, Akanji, Dias,Laporte, Cancelo, Rodrigo, De Bruyne (c), Bernardo, Mahrez, Grealish, Haaland

In what universe is yesterdays team the same as the one who played against the dippers you thick cunt ? I suppose 3 changes is classed as the same as none when you count your 3 fingers on each hand.

Not really though is it - we are not talking about 50/50 challenges and the possibility of injury but more about positioning , movement and passing - those 3 have fuckall to do with not wanting to get injured .

Yesterday we had less possession and made less passes than Brighton - that’s fuckall to do with players being worried about getting injured before a World Cup (you would think passing it more would give you less chance of getting injured !!)

The Argentinian Macallister would be perfect for our squad , top player ! But after the Cucarella saga I would personally stay clear of signing any players from Brighton. Cucarella has turned out to be bang average like most of us predicted and his transfer fee an absolute joke .

One thing I have noticed is that having a week off or time off due to a postponed match does us fuckall favours - I expected us to come out all guns blazing against Brighton .

Very disappointed.

Possibly but I think he was our main target after Haaland hence the inflated fee .

Carl, you must be the thickest cunt on the board.

This is exactly what you said:
"Should have been the side that played the dippers"

Why did you want the side that played against Liverpool, a couple of days after saying you knew we would struggle against Liverpool when you saw the lineup?

(You were possibly the only one who thought that by the way, but I'll put that down to your hatred for pep, which is obviously well documented)
