Would you say Portugal's midfield is better than England's?

Still neither of our first choice full backs available for the dippers game yet - quarter final losers not too late for reinforcements though :D (Definitely Ake or Alvarez will be back/)

As it stands - who'd win?

Steffen
Lewis Akanji Laporte Gomez
De Bruyne Rodri Gundogan
Mahrez Haaland Palmer

Ederson
Walker Stones Dias Ake
Cancelo Phillips Bernardo
Foden Alvarez Grealish

So Bernardo Ruben and Joao won’t be available on the 22nd. Surely Portugal will be too good for Morocco.

Didn't realise he's been quite so poisonous :?
'The 25-year-old has appeared revitalised this season and admitted part of that is down to feeling "free" in north London under Mikel Arteta, adding he had grown tired of City's style of play.

"The thing was the way [Guardiola] understands football and what he wanted," Jesus told ESPN Brasil. "Then it was up to you to accept it or not. If you don't accept it, 'thank you' and let's go for another challenge.

"I accepted it for a while, but there came a moment when I said: 'I want another thing for myself.' I thanked him, 'thanks for everything,' he understood, and we moved on.

"It is different here at Arsenal. The football is different - different players, different ways to play.

"At City, it was different. The striker didn't touch the ball that much, you see this by watching the games. And, when it was time to touch the ball, it was not the striker, because [Guardiola] ended up putting a midfielder to come closer. OK, fine. So, I decided to change."

Interesting story -

Why Man City star Bernardo Silva ran back onto pitch as Portugal celebrated goal against Switzerland during World Cup Round of 16 victory

The emotions were running high for Portugal as they went ahead in their World Cup last-16 clash with Switzerland.

Despite the wild celebrations, Bernardo Silva still had the presence of mind to run back onto the pitch.

There was a huge celebration just off the pitch by the corner flag on the left-hand side that involved the players on the pitch and the substitutes.

The Man City star quickly realised that all outfield players were off the pitch and run back to just inside the corner flag.

England fans may remember Kieran Trippier doing a similar thing back in 2018.

This is because it was thought that the opposition team could restart the match if all ten outfield players had left the field.

However, FIFA later debunked this theory that such an incident could happen.

Under Law 8, one of the conditions for a kick-off to restart play after a goal has been scored is “all players, except the player taking the kick-off, must be in their own half of the field of play.”

It therefore seems that Silva need not have ran back on the pitch and maybe players do not realise this loophole theory is not true.

Eden Hazard retires from international football.
Given KDB said Belgium were too old to win the tournament and he will be 35 by the time of the next World Cup, can we hope he will follow suit?

With his injuries as well, you’d hope he’d have the common sense to. Otherwise his club career will be cut short.

Wtf was that from the keeper. Run out and drop to your knees? He's either got to stay big or dive at Neymars feet and hope for the best.
