There have been a number of players who have been brilliant this month, but who is your Player of The Month for August?

For me it's between the man who has not conceded a goal and the man who has scored in all league games.
The 'keeper just edged it.

For me it was a choice between Adebayor or Given, and because Ade has scored a goal a game I chose him, due to his goals getting the 9 points the club currently have on tally.

Barry has been brilliant so just shades it for me ahead of Given and Adebayor.

It would be with him not having played a single minute.
Adebayor for me, I knew he was a very good player but am still a little surprised with just how well he's played. So much for being a lazy, mercurial waster. He's been arguably our hardest working player along with offering the most quality. He's well capable of reaching 20 league goals, something we've missed for a long time.

Ive got to go with our in-form striker - you can't argue with three goals in three league appearances and he was on fire the whole match against Portsmouth - to me it's the Portsmouth match that gets him the award since Given 'only' had one thing to do to save us 2 points (and though you could argue he had to position himself in the first place, the shot was straight at him)

I didn't think Gaz Baz was our best player in any individual game but he was among best three players in all of them. I think that describes him well as a player, real mister consistent who hardly ever has a bad day. He kept us ticking every game and deserves the gong. But there were loads of brilliant efforts this month by Ade, Shaunie and SWP who all deserve mention.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Gone for Ade, took his goals well, and made sure we keep our 100% record.
Honerable mentions to Barry and Shay.

Im in two minds on whether I should pick SWP or Ade.
For me SWP has been MOM twice and unlike the others I think he has had to fight for his place in the team more.
SWP for me

There are a few very close to that award but if Caicedo, Benjani, Jo etc had been playing upfront, would the results have been as good?
Ade for me.

Barry gets it for me, we now have the midfield general we've been longing for. Does so much unsung work and his range of passing is phenomenal. Ade is a very very close second

For his ability to break up opponents play, to link our defense to attack and for slinging in corners that we actually score from, my vote for August goes to Sir Gazza of Bazza

Over the years I've watched Barry so many times on tv & in the flesh but imo, though good, he never looked the player he does now, he really looks absolute top quality in everything . Perhaps it's because we play through the middle more than Villa have been doing so he sees more of the ball ?
