Just a question, who will you replace Ederson with?

There’s no one out there that could do his job. We need to be thinking about a future replacement. I assume the kid that went to Southampton was going to replace him in a few years but he couldn’t wait and chose relegation.

Trafford is supposed to be decent.

The world is full of goalkeepers. Its hardly as if there is no one. It's up to the director of football and the manager and scouts to identify those keepers that fit our profile and act accordingly. And without question that process is already in place to source

Be honest, how many had heard of Ederson before we signed him?

100 clean sheets (1 in 2 )
Maybe we are being a tad harsh .

He wasn’t great today, lost us possession several times. I would give him a rest for a couple of games just to sharpen him up

This thread asks a fair question, like the KdB one.

This is a really obvious point but some shots are harder to save than others. For example, if anyone thinks any goalie was going to save Everton‘s goal at ours, they want their bumps feeling. There have been others. The main problem Ederson has is that many of the shots at him stem from defensive mistakes because the opposition aren’t good enough to fashion chances for themselves. Mistakes usually provide the striker with an easier chance.

Also it is easier for a goalie who is in the game all the time to make saves. When you have fuck all to do for 87 minutes it is a lot harder.

One or two misplaced passes v Newcastle went interesting touch on the halfway line. I prefer that to Steffen giving the ball away eight yards out in the FA cup semi final.

I do think Lighthouse is good enough, yes. I think Ortega is good enough as well. Maybe James Trafford will be too. Especially for our purposes.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

The answer is - yes, he’s fuckin good enough. Class keeper and some embarrassing posts in here. Almost as if players can’t go through a patch of poor form.

Brilliant keeper.

Pity we can't sub him for penalties ;)

He was great today! Saved our bacon at the Bernabeu for sure. Vini's shot was world class. As was KDB's reply.

A bit more nervy than I'd liked, but it also shows great strength winning these sort of games.
