If we are a serious club, we should never let Phillips and Gomez touch the pitch ever again. Utter liabilities. Neither have done anything good in a City shirt. Worthless players.

Dias totally lost concentration. Lost his man on the corner, stupid turnover to Maddison who should've scored. He almost gave it away like he was in the Bernabeu.

Mahrez was absolutely wank. What the fuck was he doing, strolling round the box while Walker was isolated out wide?

Need to improve.

The first decent chance they had (Praet shot saved by Ed) stemmed from Laporte not being arsed to chase back until it was too late.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

Thought we made too many changes but got through and rested a few legs for Bayern.

Get the fuck in, over to you, Arsenal.

Everton got a very important draw against United that gave us the initiative in the title race when Moyse was manager, let's hope he repeats that tomorrow

Pep admits to concern about another injury to Stones because his injuries tend to be long. I’m not surprised he came off.

IIRC Everton were the very last team to have Liverpool drop points in 18/19, right?

He rested Gündo today, he will be needed on Wednesday alongside Rodri , tin tin and Jack. Start Alvarez on the right and the work is done.

City were literally a monster when full strength. An unstoppable machine. The changes came and the players that came on did themselves zero benefit in terms of staking a claim. I find Akanji to be dreadful, mainly, happy to credit his solid display versus Bayern; their biggest chance in the first half stemmed entirely from Akanji sliding into a ridiculous tackle that totally missed its target, so not exactly immaculate.

Phillips is what? Palmer has talent but won't go for it whenever he is given an opportunity. Gomez is Championship level, please see it.

The worst player today? Easy, Mahrez. Stole his wage. Awful, just awful.

However, whilst we can see how limited most of the 'replacements' are, the first string are an absolute machine. 27-3 in the last 5 games, isnt it? Nuts.

To be clear Pep did not say Stones was injured just that he had to be managed carefully because his injuries tend to last a long time. Fodens the only player coming back who can make a real difference. Training next week?

Hopefully on the bench for the semi, get a few minutes and be in contention for the tarquins

Great first half, but crikey….it could easily have been
3-3 !!!
Those players on for the last half hour did not in any way play to become first choice considerations. We hardly had a touch in their penalty area…..and Mahrez, fuck me he was lolloping about doing absolutely nothing. We got the job done in the end, but that last 30 mins was fucking awful !!

The only way we can win the lot is managing the minutes. He managed to rest Gundo and Ake for the whole game today. Haaland, Stones and Rodri for large portion of it. Phil to come back soon- it's brilliant. We might get a few shaky minutes but if they all stay fit and we keep winning it's well worth it. Roll on Wednesday, come on West Ham

Do you know what, some have already alluded to this but I think one of the main problems with these games is that when we are “managing” them we stop offering any real goal threat (often before the changes) and then the momentum has shifted when the new guys enter the field. Then we struggle to turn it back on, leading to the subs getting abuse for the drop off.

Bit of a catch 22

We ( as in most of us on here ) wanted Phillips gone after a few games as it was clear as day he was going to be shit —- well , it was clear to most of us , just not you .

Weve a good squad but by no means a big one. After our best 11 or 12 players the quality drops considerably.
Thankfully we have not had a spate of long term injuries to our senior players.
With 4 , 5 or more out for an extended period, which can happen, we would be mid table.

Lots of talk about silva, gundo and Laporte leaving.
For me it would be Gomez, Palmer and Philips to go first.
Either way there will have be a big revamp in the summer.

Palmer isn’t going to make it with us. McAtee has more of a chance.

Ah so I didn't say I wanted him gone after a few games? You're able to spot so much stuff so early on. Except spelling and grammar obviously.

And you hate pep, so you haven't much credit in the bank unfortunately mongo.
