Laporte was directly responsible for us losing to RM.........I have zero confidence in him ( and hes off in the summer )

He wasn't directly responsible at all. Fern was at fault for 1 of the home goals as was Stones. Foden gave the ball away and conceded the free kick that led to the handball for the pen. There were loads responsible.
He was a lot more directly responsible for us winning the league when he played injured the last few games when we had nobody else.

Did we play last night? Can’t see much on the BBC and Skysports home pages? Odd

No it was in your imagination, just like my fine chicken salad and Augustiner Beer behind the Dome in München, yesterday afternoon.

I think we were a bit sloppy and kept giving the ball away in bad areas. Conceded too many soft chances. We have to improve in that Madrid tie, or else they'll butcher us.

So it was a figment of my imagination that he gave away the penalty which was a direct factor why we lost.

Glad that’s sorted .

I’m not saying Laporte is my 1st choice defender. He has stagnated. But the lead up to that goal was down to a team effort of fuck-ups. Same again with Madrid they are ruthless.

Thanks stupot. Most fans will be grateful for Laporte’s contribution to the League title playing through pain as he did in several matches at the end of the season.

Had another look at the highlights. Laporte not responsible for the first two goals and arguably he made a fair tackle and got the ball for the penalty. Benzema made the most of it.

Beat them at home and let them chase after us in Madrid.

No way! That’s what happened last year and look what happened. I’d take a draw over there to be honest and then get them to COMS and we do them.

I think we are better when we are playing the first game home because we usually go for the win. In Madrid I think we are going like last night, for a draw, not for their necks.
I was glad last year we played first at home and let's face it, we were the better team for 179 minutes. Then the brainfarts came.

3-0 at home with Madrid going to Santiago Bernabeu is something I would love.

Great to see his confidence up. He has been playing very well for us and contributing for a while now. Cannot be a lot worse for tired teams to have him cutting inside and running at you late in the game. Looking forward to seeing him play at wembley

Exactly. Stones and Fern the 1st 2, Foden giving the ball away stupidly before giving the free kick that led to the penalty. Let's get rid of them all as they're all directly responsible.

Think we can all agree that over the 2 legs last season, we were the better team but we gave them easy goals for a variety of reasons. This time around, we are set-up better defensively and up front we have an absolute fucking nuisance whose conversion rate is the envy of all. Just put my request in for the away leg and very much looking forward to seeing us over there again

I have lost count of the number of arguments I have won over the years...dating all the way back to 1999.

Who are you again ?

Laporte in a big european night is a gamble, a big one, based on his history in this competition.
But what's the alternative? Playing three on the back? No thanks.
