Isn’t this the guy we were linked with?
Also, how many players have Forest signed now?!
Think it's 18
More than our squad size!
Now announced as having signed on a season loan. Does beg the question of why we never do this
Loan signings are usually short term fixes?
We build teams strategically, long term view. Committed to the cause, etc...
They are short term fixes I agree. But left back has been a problem area for years now. A short term fix wouldn't be a bad thing in this instance. And of course, if he turned out to be decent and just what we needed then we sign him
Fair point but there is the whole having to learn how to play in a Pep team thing.
That seems to take most very good players a season to learn and bed in.
That makes it difficult to get 'plug and play' players.
Another fair point about taking time to adapt and is probably the main reason why it doesn't happen.
Also might be a factor why our lads take a while sometimes on loans elsewhere. They are used to playing a way no one else does, or at least is successful at. They are playing with guys who though have experience and lots of match experience, aren't as skillful or have the vision.
I remember watching Barnsley a couple of times a few years ago when Devante Cole was on loan there. He was making runs expecting the ball to come because that's what he was used in training and playing in our youth systems. But the balls didn't come because the Barnsley lads didn't have the vision or skill to execute the pass and it make Cole look foolish
