so much doom and gloom re the potential departures...
yes, it's a shame to see some great servants of the club go but you only have to look at our rivals to see what happens if you don't evolve the team.
i think that we'll end up with a stronger, more balanced squad come august when the proper football resumes than we've just finished the season with...

To be fair though our rivals are strengthening and we’re losing 5-6 senior players.

I don’t think we’ve potentially lost this amount of first team players in one window before. We’ll see what happens, but it is a bit worrying.

I agree. 5 or 6 going in one window is too many. Especially when it might take their replacements 12 months to bed in.

I can understand Walker going. He is good but he's not flexible in his play and he's not the future. Gundo, Silva, Laporte all have been strongly rumoured to want out, perhaps they should go now. Palmer isn't a favourite for me. Hasnt developed. I think Alvarez, Foden Lewis all have shown they can start games. Mahrez i'd keep, never hear him bitching, Phillips i'd move him on in a shot if we get anywhere near decent money. I reckon we lose about 6, get a few quid and balance the books a bit. Still quite relaxed from last weekend, no pressure now but these guys will want to repeat it even more. Biggest task is keeping Haaland in scoring form and Jack sober.

I don't think books need balancing. We did that last season when we flogged few players. We got a huge transfer kitty from winning the treble. Apart from that, I agree with your other points.

Plus didn’t they report we’ve got £300m just from doing the treble?

Ffs Walker is in the last year of his contract now. He's already said he will see it through . Expect him to take an extention , who wouldn't want to be part of
this squad / and don't sax Gündo, nobody can afford him

Is that Issa Kabore not due back with us? He’s a RB isn’t he?

My accountant would say books always need to be balanced but he also says you can't take your money with you why leave it all to the kids, live your life!

That Tolmie’s Hairdoo bullshiter on BlueMong has said Bayern have offered us Sanè back and he’s spoken with Pep.

On balance I think it's a no from me

Thought he was very good when he was here before and he fitted into our style brilliantly and had the potential to kick on even further. He then decided, or it may have been decided for him by his agent or mother, but either way, that the grass was greener back home at Bayern. And as is so often the case it turns out that it wasn't.

Has he burnt his bridge? Is there space for him in our current set up? Is he good enough? Has the last 3 years at Bayern knocked a bit of confidence and swagger out of him? Could either Foden, Grealish or both play more central to replace Gundogan and/or Bernardo thus making room wide for him?

I guess it depends on who else would be available and the prices involved as to whether this has legs and my uneducated guess would be it hasn't

I’m 50/50. He was class against us in the first leg this season. Could have had a hatrick if it wasn’t for good goalkeeping. He played more central that night and from what I hear he’s been playing more central for Bayern a lot.

Still, not sure where he’d fit in, unless he’s a replacement for Mahrez.

Hypothetically what would be the minimum fees for.

For me
Bernado 100 mill
Kyle. 35 mill
Laporte. 50 mill

Keeping Bernado would be top of my list and ensure we secure Gundo unless it’s Saudi.

Can’t see how we’d get close to any of those fees to be honest. Don’t think anyone has more than 2 years left on their respective contracts. We are hardly going to get more for Silva than Madrid paid for Bellingham. £60-70m at a push is more realistic. And Walker only has one year left and is 32. Be lucky to get £20M for him. Laporte we would only get that if another PL club was in for him and I don’t think he’d go to another English club. Spain is probably his preferred destination and there isn’t as much money floating round in la liga

Neves going Saudi for £47m at 26 years of age. Mental.

Even more mental, BBC - “Neves has been central to their success since joining from Porto in 2017.”

Wolves’ success. Where? When? What?

Could all be filtered into the Newcastle project?

When does the Saudi season start and finish?

A loan to Newcastle, not dissimilar to Lampards to us from New York, wouldn’t surprise me. Saves Newcastle paying a transfer fee freeing up funds for other purchases

And it could be constructively argued Wolves success has been to simply remain in the PL and to get into Europe. Not many promoted sides are still going strong in the PL after 5/6 years. Winning actual pots is highly unlikely to be fair. Success is relative to where a club comes from and its budget. Wolves have done well in this regard

Can’t agree Notts. Success would be building on something. Last season they were fighting relegation. Can’t be classes as success just because your owner is a tight bastard. West Ham were fighting relegation but still won a pot. No reason Wolves can’t give the League Cup a good run.
