Weird because they reported the ginger lad from Brighton to scousers for just £35m…didn’t include add-ons
Because there's zero chance of the add-on conditions coming to fruition

Havertz joins Arse.
Odd one.

Just realized Umtiti has gone back to Barca after a season-long loan at Lecce. He's still got 3 years on his contract at close to €250K per week, so there's no way they'll be able to offload him!

Lenglet who was on loan at spurs must be in a similar position.

Bayern still talking up a Walker transfer. Supposedly offered him the same deal as Gundogan. Two years plus option for another year. He’s got one more year on his City contract so it’s two extra years. Will we match that?

Di Marzio also saying City are now strongly in the race for Rice. If so it’s because the Gundogan decision has prompted this. A complication could be Phillips though. West Ham would want him as part of the deal and he doesn’t want to leave.

One question is whether Rice is set on a move to Arsenal. No point in City bidding if he insists on an Arsenal move. The other is whether Phillips can be persuaded to join West Ham who want him. Not so far it seems but Phillips doesn’t have much of a role if Rice joins.

Rice wouldnt be so bad if we shift phillips pref for 50m.
No point having rice, phillips, kovacic and rodri. Not many goals between them.

Rice isn't worth 100m. Just the same as Grealish wasn't and still isn't.
Don't like this one.

If we pay the money, rice will definitely come. He's got a wall full of city shirts at his house. He's got lots of other player shirts too, but 5 or 6 city ones all grouped together on one wall, must be a sign.

Di Marzio says Rice happy to come to City who are bidding 75 million in two instalments plus 15 in ‘achievable ‘ add ons. This is supposedly superior to Arsenal’s second bid which was rejected. Better pay off terms and more realistic add ons supposedly.

Rice can score. Not saying I believe everything the press say about who has offered what, but I think the idea is he plays further forward for us, bit like Gundogan in fact.

I think Rice would give us the option of pushing Rodders further forward instead. Not convinced that there is anyone as good as Rodders in the position he plays for us mind

I agree. I said yesterday Rodri further forward would be a good option. That late winner at Arsenal and the goals against Villa (last day of the season) and Inter are proof he can score when he gets forward.

If he knuckles down hopefully he comes good.
You're right there, everyone was more or less unanimous that he would never be half the player Fern was. And at the time you couldn't see how Rodri would work. The complaints about Rodri were pretty much the same as what we're saying about Phillip's, slow and can't pass effectively.
Hopefully history repeats.
