The Rags and scouse , or the Arse don't get it do they ?

City buy Alvarez for peanuts . Fact is he is a quadruple winner in his first season in Europe, cushioned and from time to time let loose.

Wise by our coach, expect him and Njorll to be battling it out for top goalscorer next season.

Barcelona star Ferran Torres could be set for a Premier League return amid 'interest from Aston Villa'... with Unai Emery's side 'keen to secure loan with option to buy' for ex-Man City winger

Liverpool in for Leipzig’s Szoboszlai. He didn’t impress against City. In fact taken off. Still he’s a promising young player.

They won’t owe us money that isn’t due. They would be under sanctions if this were so. And assuming we are still owed money in the future that would simply be paid from the sale of the player

I think they only paid a small amount upfront so they still owe quite a bit.

Yep…

Cash-strapped Barcelona have only paid Man City £2.6MILLION of the £48.4m transfer deal they agreed for Ferran Torres

I doubt Torres will go to Villa. Don’t think he wants to leave. Villa may well get a new CB in Pau Torres which would be a decent buy at 30 million euros odd.

September last year.

Imagine they were due to pay a sizeable chunk on the anniversary of his signing.

Either way, they won’t be in arrears or they will have a transfer embargo. It’s probably quite common for clubs to pay fees over a longer period. Indeed it’s one of the things Arsenal and West Ham are thrashing out with the Rice transfer. And one of the reasons we get players cheaply sometimes as because we pay a greater percentage up front which clubs prefer

Villa have Monchi. They paid to get the sporting director released from Seville. That is a very smart move, expect them to be very competitive. Pau Torres is a top signing.

We need a marquee signing, feels like we're standing still while our rivals are strengthening.

Gvardiol most likely.
But we are fine.

Not sure that buying Rice is strengthening. Rags can't dump players and the Chavs are totally disorganised. Scouse are broke.

We're being frozen out of the market by the cartel clubs & their puppets. They've stitched up who goes where between themselves and are trying to prevent us from closing our targets eg dippers' latest RB Leipzig deal affects Gvardiol along with no serious bids for Laporte or Cancelo.

Arteta is building it has to be acknowledged. If Bernado looks at 80 mill a year who could blame him with a where’s the pen attitude, it closes the gap. Not sure how even City can deal with such money on offer, he’s on 8 mill a season well paid but not a big earner at City.

We can't be complacent or stand still. We may not need new players, but a top signing will send a psychological blow to our rivals. I'm hoping we have something lined up.

If we have to spend over the odds, so be it, either way we'll always be judged as the evil of this world.

We do need new players. We have one of the smallest squads in the Prem. To ask them to do what they did last season again just won’t happen. They’re all another year older. We need fresh faces.

If our bid for Rice had been accepted we’d have a new midfielder. You have to assume the Club will bring in another quality player there. It might be difficult to get a decent price for Laporte but it makes no sense for him or us to keep him if he’s starved of minutes. He’s too good a player. We may have to bust the bank for Gvardiol. If Walker goes he’ll be replaced. Ditto Mahrez. They may both stay. That leaves Bernardo. I really hope he stays but surely he’ll be replaced if he goes.

Laporte out. Cancelo out..100 million. Squad upgrades would be vital to push on. When you really look at it, bringing in better which is our only option to continue the success. The options are limited. The effort last season has to be an issue for Pep and the coaches. If we have to chase a fast starting Arsenal again without Gundo or a Bernado who are minimum 8/10 per game week in week out. Whoever comes in is facing what Ake Jack and an injured Philips faced, a shock to the ego, as this is how we do it, forget what you think you know. For me reward Bernie and save a lot of pain. I predict a very competitive season Newcastle, Villa will be hard earned points for anyone and top 6 teams maybe 4 Toughest season after a treble we will need full squad, Kovacic is a good start but losing Gundo could bite us. If we buy 3 maybe 4 how many can do what Haaland has done.

Agree with all of that. Except we won't get anywhere close to £100m for Laporte and Cancelo. Be lucky to get £60-70m

But a side that doesn't strengthen when on top will lose ground especially when our rivals are refreshing their squads
