The squad is poor, not sure how it came to this. Too many players the wrong side of 30. Grealish, Nunes, Doku, Phillips all should never have been bought 250 mil there, yes 250. We need a LB and a RB. A DM to cover Rodri and play alongside him long term allowing him to push forward more often. A forward to give cover for Halland. Have hope for Bobb on the left and possibly with time Sevinhio on right. We have enough CD for two teams. Get rid of the old bring in fresh yes it may take a while but please lets get started in Jan.

We wouldn’t have won the CL without Grealish that season. But the rest I agree with.

OK I back track a little on Grealish I just can't get over his price tag £100 mil. Not his fault we paid that but for that you need a game changer, or a game controller, or a goal scorer unfortunately he is none of those.

Team game Mase, team game. Quite often we carry players like Jack. Even in the triple season.

He certainly isn't worth 100 mill, never was. Now he's even soiled goods. I am not sure we could get 50 mill back if we sold him

Im not having jack in the flop category at all. The price tag wasnt his fault but he has been a solid player in a hugely successful team. Some of the others have offered zero literally to us. Jacks fee was as much about his marketing potential as it was his footballing ability. When we signed him he was the nations favorite footballer after the euros and every woman fancied him. I have friends and relations who have no clue about football or any footballers but who knew and loved Jack. He was supposed to bring to us what David beckham brought to the rags, unfortunately on the pitch he hasnt been at the very top but by no means a flop.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jackie hasn’t scored for us for over a year. For the money we paid he has to be considered a disappointment overall IMO

It’s possible City approached Zubimendi’s agent informally and got knocked back. If not we really should be snaffling him but won’t. Likewise Guimaraes, a damned good player. Our midfield is at the heart of our problems. Pep is so terrified about turnovers (one can see why)that the players are drilled not to take any risks with aggressive passes for quick counter attacks. Result City are faced with deep blocks because Oppositions have time to get organised. Pep has always coached like that but it seems more noticeable this season.

Pep said Kevin might have come on sooner. Er yes.

The fee is not his fault. Pep has clearly coached him to not give the ball away and not take risks - again not his fault. It's really not worked out for him and us but if we played him as a no.10, they'd be a huge upturn in form. Pep doesn't fancy it clearly and keeps him out wide. If we need to raise funds, he has to be one of a limited number that we could get money for and / or use in exchange. Shame that we've not used him to his full potential

No the fee is not on him at all.

But I’d still expect a guy playing in his position to score some fucking goals

Grealish’s performances against Bayern and Real in the quarter and semi finals that CL winning season were worth £100m alone!!

Unfortunately he’s not done it since.

OK I uderstand the love for Jack but still think we should cash in. Would love to get back to when we used to break with pace fron defence to attack. Sergio, Sane, Sterling. We also had good full backs to couter teams doing it to us. Quick defenders are possibly more important than ever.

Grealish 100m
Nunes 53m
Phillips 45m

That's almost 200m wasted. Imagine had that been invested on Wirtz or Musiala and kept Palmer. Haaland, Foden, Palmer, Wirtz, now that's what you call an exciting young forward line up.
This is down to Pep and the spafia for making poor decisions and planning.

He was such an important cog in the team and it's no coincidence we've been worse as a whole since he's struggled for games through next niggles and poor form since the treble season.

He needs to get back to his best but no one who was a regular in our treble winning side is a flop in my eyes, they're all heros.

We just need to improve at phasing them out at the right times so not to tarnish their legacy and standing with the fans a la Walker

I know Rodri is a massive miss, but Grealish holding the ball and hardly losing it is also missed. Doku and Savio cutting inside and having a shit shot that gets blocked and we lose possession is killing us at the moment.

Anyone know if Doyle is being played LB or CB for Norwich?

Doesn't matter, he will be shipped out and then we are going to regret it.

Horrific story in the Independent that Ronaldo wants to come to City

Can only assume it is just that. A story. With no basis of truth whatsoever
