Makes a bit of a mockery of the Sports Personality Of The Year awards when somebody can do all this (at a cost of nearly £1M) for no personal gain other than the satisfaction of helping people, yet not even be nominated.

I thought the sports personality was purely based on sporting achievement?

You may be right, but, if so, I don't understand why they use the word Personality in the title?

He really seems to have put genuine effort & commitment into this rather than just chucking a few quid at it & taking the kudos, like many sports people do with charity work. Of course he's put a LOT of money in too though.

If stuff like this doesn't count towards getting recognition such as 'Sports Personality' then perhaps it's time it did, or at least a special award or something.

Well from a personal (not his club) point of view he's achieved more and got more personality than fuckin Bryan Griggs!

Gonna give it a watch now. I checked an old thread an it appears I was wrong about how the set up works. Shame that someone has put that incorrect info out in the first place, shame on me for believing it.
