Both Khusanov and Reis look full of potential but far from the finished article. Given our current difficulties that’s far from ideal. Given the fees looks like they’re both expected to make a contribution this season. They’re both very talented though and you can’t coach that into a player. A couple of our existing CBs are likely to leave at the end of the season. Dias and Gvardiol are going nowhere. That leaves two of Ake Stones and Akanji.

Agreement reached on fee for Vitor Reis from Palmeiras for £29.4million. Coming straight into the first team squad so we wont be waiting till after World Club Cup. Next step a medical.

Insane, just insane.
Imagine throwing both of them in Premier League in a game. He has 18 games at the first team. That is it, 18 games.

Short delays on Khusanov and Reis are to be expected due to get them work permits.

Deal close with Marmoush. Key is whether he plays against Frankfurt on Friday. Hopefully not. He was outstanding yesterday by all accounts.

The transfer window so far.
By all accounts two young defenders for the future.
And one attacking forward player, who by the looks of things can fit straight into the squad.
That is all good.
But what about a midfielder? That is what we badly need.

Do Marzio says we’re interested in Cambiaso of Juventus.. He plays in midfield quite a lot but also at left back.

Fabrice Hawkins says weve reached agreement in principle for Marmoush and he won’t play tomorrow. Fabrizio hasn’t given it the here we go but it’s close.

So we are buying a left back to replace Walker, a right back?

I think he’s very much two footed. He also plays midfield which is where he might fit in with Rodri unavailable until next season.

An Italian defender will do for me however, dealing with Italian clubs is a nightmare so maybe not this window.
