We have to think that Rodders may not be the player he was following this injury and we need to address it over the summer as we would seem not to be addressing it in January. I sound like a broken record, but why not give the role to O'Reilly. He can do no worse than the current options and may actually bring some speed and legs to a static midfield

O’Reilly is an attacking midfielder mate. I’d have. Kova there but have O’Reilly in the midfield at the same time to give us some legs.

My bad in that case. Would explain why I've not seen him DM. Mind, I'd still say he'd do a job. Agree that he'd add legs to aid Kova for the remainder of this season

I was the same, not sure why but I thought he was a DM. To be fair, he played LB the other week so he can’t be too bad at defending.

Ruben is out tomorrow with an adductor strain ( as is Doku with another injury). Not clear whether Pep regards Stones as fit to start a match. Otherwise Khusanov might make a surprise debut. He Reis and Marmoush will all be in the squad tomorrow. My impression is that Khusanov is ahead of Reis in terms of readIness to play. He thought Marmoush would adapt quickly.

WTAF with these fucking sick notes? He's ok to be fucking off for NYE in ibiza but can then only manage half a game before he's fucked again. Play the Uzbek kid, lets see how fucking quickly Ruben recovers. Taking the absolute piss this now

Ruben like Rodri mate flogged over a long period. We are seeing the same. Cole coming back. It could be a very messy game. To my mind if we have a chance to bring in midfielders already here or elsewhere why are we not doing it, our press is non existent, possession down, KM run down. If Pep the committee need more convincing then they are as slow as our team on the pitch! This is not going to end well. If Chelsea go for us another slump will happen.

Pep did indicate that langage was an issue with Khusanov for the moment. The whole situation with defenders is frankly awful. Pep sounded tired and thoroughly browned off about it. We have been very unlucky with CB injuries this season. The situation at Right Back is different. He persisted with Walker too long and Rico doesn’t convince there either.

Agree entirely, was annoyed to see the guy in the press with some wannabe. When he could and should be with the squad. Even if not fit.

We’ve not been unlucky. We have Ake who has always been a sick note. Stones has always been a sick note. We knew two of our best CBs would hardly play and did nothing about it.

Dias I can understand. We didn’t know he’d become a playboy unfortunately

Weve got 5 CBs including Gvardiol. I think it was reasonable last Summer not to see yet another CB as a priority. Gundogan was brought back in to get some goals from midfield not to play every three days as a holding midfielder. We had the red card warning about Rodri last season. We should have acted and still havent. We should also have bought an RB and still havent.

We’ve got 5 - 2 = 3 As mentioned, Ake and Stones are always injured. That was known before the season

Chelsea have their own sick note.
I was talking to a Chelsea fan at work before who said Lavia is definitely out again tomorrow, said he'll probably play 2 games in March and be out for the rest of the season

Gvardiol plays there and Ake can play there decently. The Right Back issue is far more urgent.

Thought you mean James. Is he fit or is he doing a Stones/Luke Shaw?

They can, but so can Stones and Akanji play as a rb.
That is the problem. The "can". We should have natural players there.

As we've seen it's the multi positional players that Pep adores and we've been lucky in the past and gotten away with it. Now, hopefully, we will bite the bullet & BUY TWO FUCKING PROPER FULL-BACKS.
I don't think an additional two to work with is too much for him. My real fear is Pep tries to turn either one or both of the newbies into a rb. I will lose my shit if that happens

He was fine with us and Saints, he then tore his hamstring for Chelsea and has since had it reoccurring issue with it. Would imagine it’s the same thing.

Stones

Ake
Gvardiol
Kusanov
Reiss

Not even including Pussey Simpson.

Either way 7 senior centre backs and who knows what will show up tomo. No out and out left back in the squad and one out n out right back with lewis, fuck me its a mess isnt it?
derby day the scores were level,

The young kid from kurdbackinstan or somewhere, can play rightback and he'll do abloody great job I bet. The other 2 signings can play as well from the off.
They'll be up to impress and motivated. Can't do any worse
