Even a cursory look at the YouTubes tells you Gonzalez is no Phillips.

Did City realize this player exist and we need him just a week ago?
That is my problem. They had time to do the dance with Porto, approach them in November, December.

We brought two defenders, almost 60 or 70 mil, they will play fuckall vs Madrid, Scouse etc.
It seems everything we do is very sloppy.

I think this is City’s way. If you remember when we were looking for a CB we were told it’ll be Napoli’s Koulibaly for weeks, only for us to go for Dias at the last minute.

Yep, but that also tells a story, that we went after him instead of Dias.

Or that we didn't and it was all paper bollox

It's January and perhaps he isn't for sale right now.

City close to a deal for Nico Gonzalez after offering close to the release clause. I presume a medical can take place in Portugal. Hope this is true.

Nico on the way to city for 60 million euros. Suggestion Weve caved on paying the release clause. Our bargaining power was pretty well nil.

City knocked back a Chelsea bid for O’Reilly because they wanted a buy back option. He stays and will presumably start against Orient.

More reports that the deal for Nico is done. Pulled out of the Porto squad for tonight’s match. Fee supposedly the release clause.

Even if he is not good enough, we missed someone in his position. But I have a feeling he will be decent.

It’s not our money. Weve got a midfielder. La Masia graduate. Tall strong. Good in tight spaces. Excellent range of passing. Welcome Nico.

According to La Voz de Galicia, #ManCity’s 5-1 loss to Arsenal caused City to ‘pull out all the stops’ to sign Nico Gonzalez and negotiations accelerated for a player City believe will increase in value very shortly.

Yeah, that was it. There weren't any other signs.
