No its not been a great window imo. Once we lost Kyle a right back was a priority, we didnt sign one and now Nunes has to mark mbappe and vini jr at the bernabeu.

We needed an experienced centre back and instead we got two novices who are likely miles off playing.

We needed a left back since forever and didnt get one.

We needed a cdm since september and fucked about waiting til the last minute losing more games in the mean time to bring in someone for 60m who we didnt think was worth E60m the day before.

Marmoush the jury is out on, i would have preferred a more powerful central striker but i get why we went someone who can play different positions. I just hope he doesnt end up out wide as we have enough wide players we need a proper number 10 to replace Kev and a proper striker to rotate with Haaland. We kind of got something inbetween both.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the club realise we're not capable of winning anything this season so have got on with starting the much needed rebuild. And we are emphasisng on younger players rather than lads in their late 20s and early 30s.
We need 7 or 8 players between this past window and the one in the summer coming up. Still a lot to do. But at least the process has started, and the four signed now have some decent time to bed in for next season.

It's potentially a very good window.. 4 young players to go with Gvardiol, Rico, Dias, Foden, Haaland, Savinho, Doku, Bobb and then see if the O' Reilly's and McAtee's can push up we're seeing the nucleus of another team that could be up there for years.
This constant " we've needed a left back for years" this manager won the league with Fabian Delph at left back, with Zinchenko, with Cancelo, with Ake, with Gvardiol. He's won Leagues with the best striker in Aguero, with the best striker in Haaland and he's won Leagues with no striker. That's why he's the best manager out there

Careful, let's not re-write history eh ? ;)

I don't think any City fan doubts that the fall off this season from previous seasons , is drastic. we as fans need to be patient and see how the rebuild takes hold.

Is not about what we won with those there, everyone is happy and that is why he is still here, he gets the benefit of the doubt. But those were patches and ultimately that does not work because players will never reach their truth potential that way.
Those mentioned above: Gvardiol, Rico and Foden are an example. One was the world's most wanted CB, now he is a decent offensive left back and the other two are played constantly out position, with Lewis being out favored just because of that. Haaland, the most deadly striker since Batistuta and Ronaldo barely gets a sniff because of the style that does not suit him at all, and I can go on.

We tried to reinvent the game by playing without a cmd/dmc and we've become a comedy show, because, guess what, ultimately, on the long run, this does not work and players will start to turn on their manager. Because if I were Gvardiol, I've been fuming of what I've been turn into.

So yeah, we need a left back and we need a playmaker like Kevin, no someone who can step up, because, at the moment, Mcatee who is one of the goal scorers of the team this year, barely gets game time.

They were hardly patches as it's been over 7 years and by the same token it has worked in the long term. It's not this season as without Rodri we're vulnerable and the confidence is down and that's half the battle. Hopefully this guy from Porto will help. Rebuild and we'll be back next season

Delph, Zinch, Cancelo, Gvardiol, Ake, Rico.
The first three got axed. So they were patches. Delph worked a while, was replaced by Zinch, then Cancelo and so on. It worked for us, as a club, but the players got the boot by doing something they were not super good at.

Maybe Pep was burnt by buying one of the shittest LB’s in our history - Mendy. Probably doesn’t trust himself to buy a LB again, I don’t blame him.

Off topic fascinating from Zola on getting old and how he tried to ensure he stayed competitive.

Briliant player and always seemed like a proper human being.
I think he is largely underrated in the Premier League. He was fantastic.

He was 30 when he came to the Premier League. That’s mental. He played over 200 games for Chelsea until he was 37. Class

Remember him getting one past Ian Walker in an England vs Italy 0-1.

He always came across as a nice bloke. I was struck by how much hard work he put in to extending his playing career.

He was class. Before him watching Mancini & Co on C4 Series A coverage, football in the sun was mind blowing.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on having the transfer windows. I don’t particularly like it, prefer it when you could buy anyone when you wanted.

Overall, not a bad window, Quite excited to see them integrate into our first team. Hopefully Pep won't do something daft with them. Would have liked a right back but i think Rico should be given that role. The experiment with Nunes hasn't quite worked

Not happy to be honest because of the two center backs. Don't understand why did we buy them at those prices when they seem miles from being regulars. 65-70 mil would have been a proper fee for a decent right back.
I hope the kids make it, don't get me wrong, but I have no idea how Pep will integrate them when he has such a poor record with youths here.

Dzeko is our best ever January buy, by the way.

All it’s done is push up transfer fees. I’m not a fan and preferred the old system
