same goes for all the youth teams as well
obviously love it when lads come through but i would never check their results
on girls football, my daughter has just joined an u11 team. she loves it but it’s not close to the game my 2 lads played when they were same age. i love watching her play though - it’s so much more fun for them, the boys take it way more seriously. she has 2 female coaches who are great, they come up against teams coached by dads who clearly wanted sons and shout and scream on the sideline as if they are managing a sunday pub team - pretty ridiculous really

Remember there was fuck all for girls 6 years ago, but now there is. I’d imagine some girls now will be better than lads their own age because they’ll have been training since young. Our youngest has been doing football since 2 years old and her shot is more powerful than our 7 years olds.

The girls teams near us play in the lads leagues but against lads teams a year younger. Great idea and will get girls up to the level of lads eventually. I take our oldest to train with another lad in her class and his dad and she pushes him about no problems.

Watching the womens yesterday our 18 is genuinely a better fullback than Nunes - I’m not exaggerating. That Keating made a mistake for their goal but against Chelsea at home the other week she made some class saves I’d expect Ederson or Ortega to make. The number 4 yesterday is also better than any of our midfielders this season - would have her over Bernie no problems.

My girl played football for her school, squash for Lancashire U15, netball in Cardiff and exeter women's league and golf. She loves netball and likes golf. She has no interest in football. No matter how well women do, i have no interest in their game. I just think there are other sports they are much better at. All this PR drive and talking up their game is just annoying to me. It also pisses me off no end to listen to women commenting on nearly every sport i love and being in the majority. I always made an exception for Suzi Perry (moto GP) and Vicky Butler Henderson because they were fit as fuck and knew their stuff

I've seen a few games and the standard is way off. Genuinely think most of the lower football pyramid would beat any one of the women's prem teams.

That said the standard should increase in future years. I coach my son's team and we've a couple of girls who play for us who are really good footballers.

I've tried to take an interest and have watched some of the bigger games when on TV but I just can't really get into it. I'd rather go and watch Rammy United than City ladies if I'm being honest.

Similar to Mase though, if my daughter starts to take a proper interest in football ( not looking likely at the moment but you never know) I think i'd start with games at the academy stadium to get her used to the experience.
