Sané looked much better when he was switched wide left towards the end of that season and really took off the following one. The brief glimpses we have seen of Savio on the left make me think that this may be a positive solution, but we all know Pep loves his inverted wingers and coming back inside to a packed area of the pitch.

I’d say it’s the only solution mate.

Savio desperately wants to be Mahrez - he’s not got that cut in from the left and goal in him at all. That one he blazed high and wide on Saturday was pathetic. He should be on the left getting balls into the box.

Saw something, but did not have time to check it, but read that all goals and assists from Savio came from the left side. 70% of the time he was played on the right side

That's probably why Pep plays him on the right where he can cause fewer problems to the opposition .

His assist v Newcastle was from the right the day he had probably his best game for us.
He won the pen on Saturday from the right.

I think they need proper trainers. They look absolutely clueless out there, with no idea what to do. Look what Arteta and his time with Sane and Sterling.
Before shipping them out, I want somebody to actually spend time with them and tell them what to do. Savio is the player who dragged Girona to their best ever season, and Doku looked electric before joining us. I don't think that was a coincidence.
If we sell them, the ones who will come in will have the same issues.

Not one single player dragged Girona last season mate. Dovbyk scored 24 goals and was class. Couto was class. Aleix Garcia was class. Even Eric Garcia did a job.

Doku wasn't ripping up trees before he joined us -
29 games for Rennes and 6 goals and 2 assists. Before joining us Doku had never got more than THREE assists in the league for a club. Why was he bought?!

They're both not good enough

Imagine Doku at a club with full backs who overlap? Generating more space and attacking options. A coach who refines his shooting and passing and decision making. There is a quality player in there. We just need a coach who can play to his strengths and unlock the potential

Haven’t yet got the same thoughts about Savinho. But again, a different approach could reap rewards. I doubt that coach is Pep though

Be nice to see the left footed winger on the left and the right footed winger on the right where they might put a decent cross in every now and then for that big lad up front. Constant checking inside or when they do get around a man no end product with weaker foot. Thought Savinho best games this season came from the left, not that be ripped up any trees really in those games that have us excited for what’s coming.

Doku for me doesn’t have the quality we need, how many top 6 sides would start him? Be lucky get half what paid back yet our tactics consist of give it to him after slowing play play down so he’s doubled up against. Would it be unfair to say we haven’t had 5 good crosses in 2 seasons from Doku ?

Think a fit Bobb should be getting straight in over either of them for a run of games to see what he can do.

Doku is better when he is already in motion when he gets the ball but for some reason he's nearly always stood still when we pass to him. He's also quick and strong over the first few yards so why are we not mixing it up and trying to put it behind the full back for him to run on to. At the very worst it will keep the defenders guessing. At the moment they know we'll play it to feet while he's stood still and invariably there's two defenders waiting for him.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

Proper fullbacks to support the wingers would be a big help.

Could both be ok if just trained to just go past the defender and cross. They both have pace to burn. Add attacking/overlapping fullbacks, Walker was good at this although he was uncapable of crossing. Halland and Marmoush attacking the box. Play fast get the crosses in. Almost every goal we concede comes from this approach. Our problem is slow play and Peps obsession with possession.

Still one of the main issues of the team after having a summer to sort it.

Zero goals in the league from Bobb, Savio or Doku. That's actually embarrassing when you think Grealish is on loan and has scored more.

All they do is go to beat a player and cut back and pass backwards - are they being told to do this or are they just really shit?

Cherki and Marmoush on the wings please, next game

Those are not the answer.
Babaganoush was brought as either a striker, or a trequartista. Putting him there will make another player on the out of position list.
Iar Cherki is an orchestrator, as a winger might as well send him back to Lyon.

I have to admit that 17-19 was our best period with wingers, coincidental, with Arteta here. Now at Arsenal he is doing an amazing job with wingers. He made his mark, no questions there from my part.
Might be a reason of this downfall.

According to Lyon fans Cherki played better on the right, rather than in the centre mate

Sanè at 21 - 32 appearances - 10 goals - 15 assists
Savio at 21 - 35 appearances - 1 goal - 8 assists

The fact we had whoppers defending Savio's 8 assists as being great shows how far we've fallen.

Vinicius Jr ' Could be the solution. Seems to be marmite with Alonso.

I am not sure how serious the stories about Rodrygo were, but when we talk about match winners, there's one right there.
