Regarding Guehi his price tag

Yes £40m asking price for a guy with a year left on his contract is a lot. But Palace would surely negotiate? And this is their captain, a proven PL defender and an England International so his pedigree is there

But we were happy to chuck £30M or thereabouts on Reis in January. An unproven 18 year old from Brazil with barely 50 appearances to his name

And the dippers are signing some 18 year old Italian from Parma for £26M. Again on the basis of promise.

What the actual fuck is going through the minds of the people who make these decisions? Essentially quibbling over £10m and possibly even less over a far superior prospect who as much as can be is a player who can slot in immediately.

Guehi is 25 and in his prime. It's an utter no brainer to sign him instead of these "promising younsters" we seem to be after these days. We aren't in the days of fucking Stuart Pearce any more.

Looks like Guehi wants to see out the last year. He'll play every week which he's not guaranteed to if he moves and it's World Cup year. He'll then get a massive signing on fee for going on a free. I'm sure the Palace board don't want it to happen especially as they'll get less money for being demoted from the Europa League but that's my prediction.

Said it then, Khusanov's and Reis transfers were very odd if we paid 70 mil for them, or close to that.
However, I somewhat understand it: Dias and Gvardiol should be the central pair, with Stones, Ake and Akanji ready to step in and those two to be near the lot, to step in. That looked like the plan.

I would gladly get rid of Ake and Akanji and bring Guehi.

Tolmie's hairdo is tweeting that McAtee and Eddie are gone.

Good luck to James, think he'll need it. Au revoire Eddie, thank you for almost ten years of outstanding entertainment and madness. Your passing is something else, but I'll always remember the last minute save in Istanbul.

Be interesting to see whether O’Reilly gets game time in an attacking mf role now. Good luck to McAtee always had a soft spot for the lad

how the fuck are we getting less for McAtee than Ipswich are getting for some lad who is worse?

The sell on and buy back must be very favourable for us

It must be that he's only got a year left on his contract.

This appears to drive transfer prices these days

£30M not to be sniffed at for McAttee but i would have thought its about 5m short given his expolits at U21 level in the summer. Never really shone for us but there's a number of players in that camp. We never seem to get a really good fee for our sales.

Why would Ederson want to go to Galatasary? Baffling.

If he goes to that shit hole after the season starts he'll have ruined his legacy here, for me.

He said a month ago that his future is here at City. His own words. He's been City's most important keeper EVER (not going to say best), and he's been integral to the way we've played the last 5+ years.

But to move now, especially after it seemed the plan was get Trafford in and he learns from Ed for a year, it will be a massive kick on the teeth.

Things change Mase. His legacy is golden for me. We were back at 5s last night. The blues all said the same. We sell when it’s right but get a few wrong. Palmer, Delap maybe McAtee. If he goes Donner must be on his way? My 10p worth, we seem to be in an odd position so close to the start of the season. Guehi seems the easiest deal and a massive fuck of to the scousers I’d pay 50 mill he’s 25. Not sure why but a solution like that… for very little risk.

Maybe we have been told that Guehi is only wanting the murderers next season is the only reason for me. Re Ed, agree that its odd if this deal is back on following Ed’s comments about staying good luck to him if he wants out, he's been pivotal in us playing Pep's way. Read a good analysis on Donnaruma yesterday where his distribution is not what Enrique wants, aside from the Qatari link, I'd have thought that would be a no go from us

Guehi is the most overrated player in the Prem. He's English though so that's why. Every time I see Palace, Lacroix is head and shoulders above him. If I was looking at a CB from Palace it would be him

Istanbul is definitely a step up from Saudi, to be fair, and that’s where he wanted to go last summer.

I’m fine with both him and Ortega moving on. They’ll always hold a special place in my heart. They did their job, just like Willy and Bravo before them, but it feels like the right time for all of us to embrace something new.

As for Donnarumma, I’ve said it before, he’s a poor character, no doubt, but there’s simply no one better in world football right now. And Trafford? He’s an fantastic keeper with a huge future ahead of him.

So I think things will end up ok for us.

Ederson is reported to not being in the squad for the opener at Wolves.

Don't think he's injured? So make of that what you will.

He's on his bike. End of an era. A great keeper for us no doubt. Good distribution, mad at times but most keepers are. Future at City been subject to too much talk over the last several months, tired by it. Thanks for your efforts Eddy a great blue.
I like Trafford, good prospect. Donna Summer seems a decent shot stopper, could be interesting but if we continue playing a highline defence, we've need a shot stopper
