Happy with that. We were easily opened up a few times but could have scored 2or3 more ourselves. Haaland looked like the striker he was in his first season. Keeper looked good and Foden looked a lot better than he's been in recent months.

A little bit quiet tonight on here.
Reijnders needs to up his game in midfield his passing was poor all game. I guess we need to give Rodri a little more time. Doku worked hard off the ball all game until subbed, first time he's been like that. Khusa is something else, puts the tackle in , doesn't pfaff around letting the oppo run at the defence.

Haarland cleared five times in the City box in the second half. Five times , so what with his goals and chances too ,i think he had a good game.

No yellow cards today for the first time in ages. That's how bad the rags are.

Haaland was absolutely immense- he terrified them. Doku was much improved, Foden like the Foden of 2 seasons ago. The goalie is top drawer, Khus was superb. Great performance today.

exactly how i wish he played every game
imagine standing in the tunnel prematch and seeing him (knowing he was going to be as intense as he was today), rodri, josko and gigi standing there - all massive fuckers - hopefully, they can be the spine that we need to get back to where we belong!

Generally speaking a few great moments, basically the three goals ….the rest, well we gave possession away far too easily and against better teams we will be punished. What was really noticeable though was that we seemed much more together and that is what matters to me. If they’d scored from that breathtaking save by Maradunna we would have struggled. But we won the Derby, absolutely essential given our circumstances. We need more control and hopefully that will come. A convincing scoreline, but a far from convincing performance. Next Sunday is going to be huge.

Just watched the highlights. Could have had 6! But very good to see Haalands involvement and energy. Happy as well to see Foden have a good game. Donna Summer had great presence.

Arsenal and spurs and Liverpool would wipe the floor with us based on that performance - United were fuckign SHITE.

Haaland was our best defender after Khus - all over the place our defense was !!

We need to improve immensely if we are to challenge for the top 3 places so I’m certainly not going to get giddy over beating that tin pot man united team - they were woeful .

Now.
Overall, I think it was a good performance, though, as Carl said, it came against a poor side. Still, derbies are special, and we’ve often found ways to win them even when we’ve been below our best.

For me, the defence was spot on. The midfield was off at times and let the rags get closer than they should have, but every time they came forward, they hit a wall. Khus and Nico O were immense, Dias and Joško solid, while Gigi is simply a class above. And it’s time to let go to those little tippy-tappy moments with the keeper. Yesterday, he pulled off a stop that Ederson, Ortega or Bravo wouldn’t have even touched.

The issue, though, is still in midfield. We lost far too many balls there, and better teams will punish us if we don’t wake up. I still believe we’re missing two genuinely world-class players in that area.

And a huge shout to Phil, he played with fire yesterday. Now we’ve got a real chance to build momentum: win Thursday, grab at least a draw on Sunday, and we’ll be in a strong position. But Napoli is a must-win. A victory there could set off a run of wins.

Yes its very easy to get excited over a derby win. But yesterday, while some played well, we were not good and will need to play much much better against Arsenal and Naples. Arsenal would have beaten us yesterday.
The rags are a terrible team, worst rags I have ever seen, and a city side of 3 or 4 years ago would have easily hit them for 8. Still I do think we are making progress, but probably not enough progress or improvement in time for next week.

We need to follow up up with a win vs Napoli.

My main worry for the season is inconsistency due to the number of new players and the higher number of young players in the squad.

Beat Napoli and even get a draw at the Emirates and confidence will start to grow and we'll get some momentum.

Any win versus that shower is a welcome one. No doubt about that.

But at 3-0 we were very complacent. The rags missed two sitters which could have made it very uncomfortable. A better side than the rags won't be as generous.

The two wins we've had have been against poor sides. Wolves are probably going to be relegated and the rags won't fare much better. And we've lost against two mid table sides in Brighton and Spurs.

So I wont be bringing out the bunting just yet

I wouldn't call either of those sitters.

I would however call two of our missed chances sitters.

We're only going to improve.

Haaland was unlucky not to get three and reindeer would score 8/10 times.
As previous posts, not getting carried away but a win against Utd always welcome. Some pleasing performances yesterday and the keeper gave us confidence at the back. Didnt realise what a big fucker he is.

Mbuemo from 4-5 yards out and Casemiro on his own slicing wide. Sitters in my book and had they gone in........

Totally agree we had some bad misses as well and I alluded too as such earlier in the thread that we should have been 5-0.
