The Importance of Today’s Match

Postby Sparklehorse » Sun Nov 02, 2025 12:28 pm

I think today’s match is the most important game of the season so far. If we lose, well, I think any title aspirations some of us may have will be gone. If we draw, it’ll be ho hum. However, if we win, and win convincingly, it’s still on and it will send a clear message. Six points is not insurmountable especially as we have a home game against the leaders still to play. Arsenal seem a stronger side this season but getting over the line is not easy and we are still in the early part of the season. A nine point gap will be very difficult. Thoughts ?

I personally think we're realistically playing for top 4. However, in any event, all we can do is see where we are at Easter and take it from there

I wouldn't panic just yet. We always do better in the second half of the season

Win, we're in 2nd. Draw we're 4th. Lose we're 2 points off 3rd.

There have been glimpses of our potential, but mostly we’ve been playing outside of top four standards. Yes, if we’re close at Easter I’d back us against anybody. I can’t see it myself at the moment and today is the perfect opportunity to lay down a marker. Over to you Pep and the boys.

No more important than the other 37 games.

Incorrect

The games v Arsenal and the dippers are more important as they are actual title challengers.

The rags games are also more important for obvious reasons. And I'd personally throwing the Spurs games as well.

The others, yes that's correct
