I think he still has a chance but needs to find a bit of form asap.

Id prob give him a rest play foden there and get cherki in the middle.

I'd go a little bit different and switch Doku there(I believe he plays right for Belgium), play Phil on the left and unleash Cherki in the 10 spot.

Left wing isn’t and never has been Foden’s best spot, the manager sticks him there just to fill other gaps - bit like you suggested to carry on doing.
Central number10 role is where he does the most damage and the stats back that up (from what I’ve found )

1.09 G+A/90 career average vs 0.69 out left - Last season he bagged 19 PL goal involvements, mostly central. This year he’s already got 5 in 320 mins through the middle, 2 in 185 on the left.
Pep needs a rethink.

Agree we need to keep Foden central. Wonder if we can get him and Cherki central. Not convinced Cherki puts the work in defensively so we'd need to cover that

If he has a full season freeof injury this year and plenty of chances to play, the opportunity is there for him to take. If Cherki steps up Bernardo definitely ends up out wide and his chances become more limited though.

I rather suspect he'll be a great player elsewhere

Agree. Technically, I think he is in the top 3 of our players, extremely gifted.
But he looks so soft, like a deer, afraid, and doesn't dominate his opponents, many times he seems lost out there.

If we are to keep him as a squad player, he needs to make a difference in games like the one against Swansea.

Realistically there are very few players, however gifted, that just fit right in to a team and hit the ground running. I guess Rodri is the best example of that, but there are many others.....Kev and Salad at Chelsea as well. I have seen enough of Bobb for the last few years when playing for the academy, he was just in a different class. I agree that he most definitely has the technical ability, it's now down to him to transfer it to performances. He does have a major weakness though and its his main problem and that is his strength, he doesn't shield the ball very well at all like Doku does for example and that's the area he needs to work on most. His passing and his vision is absolutely top top class. So, yes we need to see more from him. If he gets it he will be a tremendous player for us and I sincerely hope he does.
