Pep may desire to step down at the end of the season with Board approval, but i do not think the owners will sack him mid season. It is not their style.

Don't know how many times different fans can explain it but the point still stands - it's not about losing, it's about how we're losing.

A RB in midfield, a LB at RB, a midfielder at LB, no fast through balls to Haaland like the treble season, Foden and Cherki just keeping it simple, the constant passing sideways and backwards, etc etc

The tactics and team selections are the issue and they have been for 18 months. Gundo was forced in last season when it was clear his legs had gone.

Last night was nothing to do with two inexperienced CBs. It was tactics and team selection. We should have enough to beat Bodo, who had never won a CL game before!

Why win the treble and then change tactics from fast quick football and through balls and crosses to Haaland?!

More importantly, we keep trying the same thing over and over and over and it doesn't work yet we expect a different result each time?! After 20 mins last night everyone could see we were struggling, but he didn't make a change until the second half - that's poor and that's on Pep.

Wonder if a loss at home to Wolves might kickstart the board? If they haven’t already done so behind the scenes.

Lots of teams have announced a manager will leave at the end of a season

There's some decent managers that are either available now or in the summer. We lose ground on rivals by just letting Pep decide when he leaves. Has he earned the right to do that? Probably. What he's not earned the right to do is stifle our attack and play players out of position, not make changes etc. He still has to earn his money.

What more I can say that was not said?
The Savio thing was without any logic or decency before the fans who, ultimately, pay his wages.

My only take is he will not go until may, no matter what happens. The club stood 1 year and half behind Sparky, and he was brought by the previous owners. I am sure they will stay behind Pep until the end of the season.
Long 4 months ahead of us.

In the cold light of day I'm thinking for a couple of months back end of last year we looked quality again and one of the main things was a settled back 4.
All of a sudden Dias and Gvardiol out in the same game and then we've seen how much we've missed Nunes the last couple of games.
What i can't get my head around is the tinkering with what he had last night, Ait Nouri at left back and Rico right or Khus right with Ake central would have been far better options. Crazy to play Rodri, Doku would have been ideal on that pitch. We had a perfect opportunity to avoid the play offs and it looks very doubtful now. Still can't play the new signings in the last group game. Just not Maresca please.

After Wolves, our next two league games are away at Spuds and Murdering cunts.

A miracle if we come back with 4 points from that, but I expect us to lose both.
So where do we go from there?

The team needs a real shake up ahead of the wolves and next few games.
Rodri needs a partner, clearly he cant do it all on his own.
When he is ready I would love to see Nico G in there with him, when he plays we are more solid in the middle. Guehi comes in and nunes back, that will improve us at the back. I know max got lots of credit but I didn't think he was brilliant he did the bacis ok but the truth is he did very little one on one defending. Not sure about him long term, we have been here before.

Haaland, reindeer and Foden certainly need time out. Lewis needs to be sold, nowhere near our level. Marmoush just has to play more, coming on for 5 mins here and there is pointless.

Shake it up and get back to playing like we were in November.

I'm shocked I'm saying it, but Nunes is a massive miss at the moment.

Just goes to show how numb we have become by being happy with Nunes back when instead we should have a real fucking specialist at right back!

All the money Pep has been given alongside all the fuckign support and yet he still could not bring him self to play his one specialist left back in the left back position last night !!

I’m so fucking tired of this bullshit.

Don't worry Nunes is not the answer. Getting players fit, getting them back is.

Nunes has had a good season but he's the constant whipping boy for some.
I've not seen him get skinned like Nico O did against Chelsea for the equaliser.
When it was 0-0 against Dippers, great cross from Nunes and 1-0.
When it was 0-0 against Palace, great cross from Nunes and 1-0.
We missed him big style the last couple of games.

He's not the answer though, is he?
I think there's zero justification for Pep not signing specialist defenders...zero justification. Defense is one area where you need a settled back four ( How many times have we been saying this over the years ?), and all four need to be proper specialists in my opinion.
Pep can fuck around as much as he likes elsewhere on the pitch, but not at the back —it's costing us big time right now and he seems to be out of ideas how to make it work.

He was bailed out multiple times by Dias/Josko. His handball versus Brighton, multiple times with his hands across the box.
But he is played out of position and he ended up here only because Paqueta is a gambler.

Nunes has been ready to scrap because his teammates have been fouled, recently. That'll do for me.

Aït Nouri was so far out of position for two of their goals last night, he's absolutely no better
