Pep Has To Go The End Of This Season

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Only reason i want Pep to leave is the football has become very predictable, turgid boring and unentertaining.

He should have gone out on a high after our 4th Title win. It was obvious that Season Pep Ball was becoming outdated and obsolete as teams figured out how to counter it more effectively.

He has had 2 seasons since then to change his style and adapt and evolve his game, it isn't happening. The players also look bored of his style and management.

Rumours are he is definitely going the end of this Season. With the Club right now already looking for his replacement.

My personal opinion is he might walk himself before the end of the season if we get a good twatting at Klanfield it could be after that game. I don't see us finishing Top 4 as things stand. That might force the Club to act sooner than expected. We could be leap frogged by the Rags in the next few weeks.

The love affair with Pep is over, the sex was great, success beyond our wildest dreams. Thank you for the memories never to be forgotten,

Pep won the quad mainly with another managers squad, now that squad is gone it has all gone tits up and he seems lost at sea, if he doesn't walk he should be pushed.

We haven't exactly been treated to exciting football it has been poor.

His last 3 titles including the treble were won with his squad bar Kev. Absolute bollocks this "another managers squad" narrative

I said won the quad with another managers players and he did, are you arguing against that? Pep lost the plot years ago he should have walked or been booted years ago.

The facts show otherwise - at the start of the 2017 season, the following players were there prior to Pep's start and were fist choice for most games.

* Otamendi
* Kompany
* Fernandinho
* KDB
* Delph
* D Silva
* Sterling
* Aguero

2 years into the 4 titles, in August 2019 we still had:
* Otamendi
* Fernandinho
* KDB
* Silva
* Sterling
* Aguero

At the end of the 4 titles, in May 2021, we still had
* Fenandinho
* KDB
* Sterling

By the end of the 4 titles, it's hard to argue it wasn't his team, but equally there's no doubt his early successes were achieved by adding quality to a team signed under Pellegrini or Mancini.

My argument would be that the impact of the players who left from probably 2020 onwards were never adequately replaced, and where we are now directly ties back to that gradual decline in overall quality which arguably dropped off a cliff last year as KDB, Gundo, Walker etc all fell apart at the same time.

Barring Rodri, Haaland and Donnarumma, there's nobody currently in the squad who you would put in the team from 2017 - and I'd even say when it comes to Rodri vs Fernandinho and Haaland vs Aguero, we may argue that only Donnarumma would get in that 2017-2019 team.

We will never know whether that is Pep or the club's fault, but ultimately the buck stops with the CEO and Sporting Director whose job it is to look 3-4 years ahead - the fact Pep wasn't sacked last season but Txixi has moved may give us a clue to where the club think the problem lies.

Cup semifinal ahead and he does this :

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola used a news conference to speak out on a range of humanitarian issues, including calling the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by U.S. federal agents indefensible and again expressing his support for Palestinians.

On Tuesday, Guardiola spoke about conflicts and suffering around the globe: “Never, ever in the history of humanity — never, ever have we had the info in front of our eyes watching more clearly than now: Genocide in Palestine, what happened in Ukraine, what happened in Russia, what happened all around the world, in Sudan, everywhere.

“What happened in front of us. Do you want to see it? It’s our problem as human beings. It’s our problems.

“In the end, it’s images, it’s not interpretation of good play, bad play, what happened here or there, should you play this player or that player.”

All over the BBC, MEN, etc - we've got a big match and he's spouting this fuckin nonsense. Is it any wonder his Mrs fucked him off?

Quite clear he's leaving at the end of the season, he's not done this before to this extent. Tells me he's planning for after City now. Just fuck off now.

Just a reminder, his wife and child were at the MEN when a Muslim bombed it, killing children...

I suspect given how shit we've been, this is 100% about deflecting - even without seeing it, I can guess exactly the context - journo asks a question (I assume about referees) and he's throwing this in to say there's more important things in the world.

He'll be making our owners lives hell. These are people at the very very top of world politics that have to deal with the people Pep is calling out.

It's no coincidence that's he's only just saying this stuff publicly and consistently now - he's 100% leaving at the end of the season.

He 100% wants out now i reckon, this wasn't at a rally in Barcelona ( which was bad enough) but on working duty. He knows how much it will embarrass our owners.

You think that he is going and wants to get his political views aired in the media while he still has their firm attention? Its entirely plausible.
I really do not like any manager of any team talking about politics and religion. I think Pep is wrong here and should keep his personal views to himself.

He knows what he’s doing - he’s making use of his work platform to spew his political opinions - it gets world wide attention and he knows it.

He’s either fucking stupid as fuck or he has mental issues (which is highly possible given some of his emotional rants)

Any chance of a mention for the Christian people being butchered in Islamic countries, or protesting Iranians being persecuted?

You said another managers players then it went tits up. It patently didn't as the team was totally rebuilt after that and won countless more including the treble. Are you arguing about that. Yes he should go now but that doesn't diminish those achievements. If that makes me a happy clapper- guilty.

He spent a kings ransom he is now failing with his first major rebuild,he won the quad with another managers buys we could have gotten any decent manager and we'd have won things. What Pep has done is facilitated the owners in the removal of legacy fans for profit, the club and himself may very well have taken out a full generation of young teenagers who haven't had access to tickets and either support someone else or lost interest in football.

Some 60 year old season ticket holder or well off tourist might disagree but there we have it.

Wonder whether his latest political stunt, done in a football related press conference by the way, is him daring the owners to make a decision?

Whether now, or more likely in the summer.

He hasn’t criticised the owners but I’ll bet good money they are pissed
