Pep Has To Go The End Of This Season

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Sparti , i certainly did read what was quoted and i mentioned that such discussions should take place in the private forum.

Pep was not offensive to anybody. The media love to twist everything , particularly when it involves City.

You only need to look at media vhat forums and doesn't seem to matter ehat topic it is about City but some pratt or other will mention 115, or Pep should coach a second division team, or spend more billions. Because city are loaded with Saudi oil money.

But I don’t think anyone claimed he started talking about the subject unprompted.
What he could have done was keep it very simple and very clear: “This is a press conference about City and the Carabao Cup semi-final. We can discuss world politics and my personal views in a different setting. Today is about City, on City’s time, and on City’s payroll.” That would have ended it immediately.

Instead, he seemed eager to engage and address the issue, which suggests he genuinely enjoys talking about it.

What becomes problematic is the wider context. He missed the previous press conference (against Spurs) because he was reportedly late due to political commitments? I didn't hear any other reason, right? If that’s true, then it crosses a line, because at that point he didn’t perform his duties, and the club felt the consequences when points were dropped.

What you posted, was not what he said at the press conference though was it?

What he actually said at the press conference wasn't even newsworthy, it was a 45 second soundbite from a 20 minute conversation.

Do you think he didn't have permission from the club to attend the presser? And thats the reason we didn't beat spurs, fuck me you're clutching at straws now pal.

He created the consequences on the Sunday when he couldn't motivate the team to play in the 2nd half - it's got fuck all to do with whether he attended a fucking press conference, as well you know.

I am saying he could have handled the subject in a different way.
If the upcoming run was Spurs, a Cup semi-final, and then Liverpool, would you really do that? Would you miss a press conference and fly to Barcelona? Three matches that could knock you out of two competitions. I’m not saying we dropped points because he missed it, I’m saying his head clearly wasn’t 100% there, and that alone sends a message.

And it’s not a great one.

If I were a player, I’d be pissed. You want full focus, total commitment, especially in moments like that. Anything else feels like a distraction, and players pick up on it immediately.

Like I said when it was first posted, it sounded odd that he'd go off on one unprompted like that - and my first assummption was to believe he said it to change the subject. So I fell for it initially.

But as the day's worn on, I couldn't help but notice how quickly a normally quiet forum racked up 2 pages of posts, and wondered whether there was a chance he'd been misquoted, specifically to rile people up against him. Took me 5 minutes to find the video and transcript, and you can see clearly that it wasn't edited out of the video as the dialogue is continuous.

And there we have it - that's now proven is exactly what's happened - and I don't buy for a minute the people behind that reporting don't know what they are doing.

Again, no one said he started blabbering alone like a lunatic in park.
But that he talked (again) about the subject. And this time in a conference about City.

Yeah look there's a lot of things that may be behind the timing clash, so I'm not going to make assumptions.

If there was training in the morning and he skipped that definitely would be a legitimate concern, but based on what I've just shared, its a wonder he bothers turning up to any presser.

When Pep is doing a press conference he is representing Manchester City & its associates/fans, therefore his weird behaviour & rants are aligned with us by the media. I have supported & loved the club since 1965 & can say without fear of contradiction they are not representative of our fans or indeed Manchester. He should be reminded of this by the club before further damage is done. If that is done & he feels aggrieved maybe he should consider his position.

Pep is genius, managed to split you over political views and defelct from his turgid football. We should be debating his crap management and somehow we debating something that shouldn't be on footballing forums. We are all here united for one cause and that's City

Doubling down after his children of Gaza speechs he now waxing lyrically about the deaths of Renee Goode and Alex Pritti. Seems clear to me he knows fuck all about most things. He needs to keep that gob shut and concentrate on his job. Once we get thru the season he can go and protest in Iran if he has the bollocks

The whole world knows about those two incidents in Minneapolis. What did he actually say about these incidents ? I can't find the quote.

Don't bother it is in his talk to the press

I'm glad he brought up net spend. I was arguing with a rag at my daughters football that didn't believe me our net spend was decent. Told him theyve spent more sacking managers than we paid for Cherki, Guehi and Donna.

It doesn’t matter what Pep says everything will be turned & twisted against him and us , he could keep his mouth shut and that would be twisted into he’s hiding something ! The caliber of a new manager we require will have managed at teams that are in the media scums good books . Any new manager that comes in had better have leather skin he is going to need it .
