Transfer of the season?

Postby PeterParker » Thu Feb 26, 2026 4:23 pm

So, who do you think it is?

For me Donna. Without him I don't think we would have won in Madrid and in the home of the murdering cunts.

Guehi. Early days but his signing for me, means we have a chance of a pot or two

Donna, followed closely by Semenyo and Guehi . All three were ready to go plug-ins and have made differences in their own right. Donna shades it as he's had more time to showcase his talents. I've been mightily impressed by him so far. The other three in the poll, I wouldn't shed a tear if they moved on.

It's Donna. But Guèhi has been some buy. Cherki will be a solid addition long-term.

Donna Summer of course

There's no doubt Guehi is class and will be a great signing long term. But he's made a few slip ups which see others slaughtered. Just wondering why he's had a free ride on those?

Donna, Guehi and Semenyo all fantastic signings.

It's near on impossible to find a footballer who doesn't make mistakes - its not a game of FIFA.

The important thing is not making costly mistakes in big games and also how players react when they make a mistake and don't let them impact their performance.

Both Donna and Guehi seem to have excellent mental strength and leadership qualities - both top draw signings

Guehi for me.
If you asked me what would make me the most uneasy, Donna and no Guehi, or Trafford and Guehi, it'd have to be the former.

But as Nickyboy just said, both top drawer signings.

It's not like you to not reply with facts after you've made a statement. I'm still waiting for you to name the games Stones has been "class" in this season  it's been a few weeks

Whilst Guehi is a great signing and almost criminal for just £20M, not to mention pissing on the murderers fire....

As others have said Donna without doubt, he has got us as many points as any other player this season if that makes sense.

It's interesting that despite the frustrations along the way, there are 3 or 4 signings which clearly seem to have a long futue ahead of them at the club, and none that have been an abject failure.

We seem to have got our mojo back on the transfer front given a number of these players have fitted straight in. While Semenyo and Cherki are incredibly exciting, for me the most consequential signing is definitely Donnarumma.

If we win things this year, it won't be because of what we did in the final stretch in the league, or who scored the winner in the cup final - it will be about the glue that held us together through some tricky times this year when we could have fallen apart. He's provided an extra layer of leadership and experience that was needed while we were chopping and changing in defence.

The double-win is that our defenders and Trafford will all be elevated by a keeper of his quality being at the club, I still can't believe our luck.
