I loved Ederson and still miss his outrageous passing ability and ice cold veins, but I love the confidence the defence has in Donnarumma.

I agree with that, but why were they not even in the conversation? Would not be the first time they threw money at a signing to convince them to join.

Well, Emi Martinez was right there waiting for a call from them as well, so not like they didn't have the opportunity.

I believe it came down to wage management. Lammens is on £60k/week as opposed to £250k for Donnarumma, and Martinez probably wouldn't sign for less than the £150k/week he is on at Villa.
