Candle sellers will be out in force tonight, even though the world knew it was coming...

So that'll be the next two days in the media creaming over him.

Given Rodris recent comments about Madrid - bench him for the rest of the season and get rid as soon as the season ends.

Why- what's he said that's so bad. He wants to go back to Spain 1 day and playing for Atletico doesn't stop people going to Real.
He's also said he has another year here and will talk to us.
If we stopped playing people every time something like this happened we'd have stopped playing Bernardo every season and Yaya wouldn't have got his 20 odd goals in 2014 then all the seasons thereafter.
Nico said he had so many free runs on Sunday as Rice and Zubimendi were obsessed with Rodri and Bernardo who both ran the game.

Do feel like it’s a bit of a slap in the face, I am sure we paid for his rehabilitation as well as his full salary - might have been wiser to keep schtum

Totti said no.
I think Gerrard said no.
Vieira said no.

They were all in their prime when they said no. Perhaps Rodri meant that nobody past their prime with a huge question mark over his ability to stay fit in the most demanding league says no to half a million a week in a farmers league.

1. We just got knocked out by them for the 4th year in a row in the CL and pretty much every tie has had plenty of controversy.
2. That entire club protested his Ballon d'or award
3. He previously played for Atletico
4. With the exception of a few games, he's looked 50% off the pace this season and should be thankful that Pep has benched Nico for him

Just makes him look a bit pathetic and lacking much feeling towards City. While Bernardo has talking of leaving season after season, he's never said anything like this about a club like Real. If all our players had Bernardo's mentality we'd win the quadruple but we have people like Rodri who's head is obviously not here.

3rd year in a row not 4th.
Beat them in 23, went out in 24- Rodri's Balon D'or year because of Bernardo's embarassing penalty.
Bernardo hasn't said about Madrid because he's not Spanish. He has always wanted to go back to Portugal

International breaks are the players transfer window.2

Come and get me !!! If Rodri wants to return home. Fine by me. He’s been amazing. Cheers all the best and thank you for
the memories including Istanbul X. Another sign Pep is closer to leaving.

Rodri is just being a nice boy answering questions. I would not take anything said at such conferences too seriously.

I agree with both Hazy & Zuri he has been brilliant for us wants to go home so be it thank you and good luck , At the end of the day they are footballers not snakes and rats like the media they face who will twist a question to how they want to and we know they twist answers wankers , my only wish - he doesn’t go to the Spanish rag bastards

Rodders has been the best in the world as his Balon win testifies to. Unbelievable with his some of his predecessors, but our only ever winner.
Again it's silly season during an international break. If he wants to go to Franco's mob, they pay the price or a player swap and we shake hands. Let's not have our pants pulled down though.

No matter how badly some of the players want to go you just have to watch your words in the press as ‘ anything ‘ negative will always have repercussions.

I’m sure I said on here that we should sell him last summer as it was 50/50 wether or not he was ever going to be the same player again - so far , he’s not is he ?
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

If you read the full transcript of what Rodri said its not as bad as the clickbait headlines written about it.

He was answering questions and being diplomatic.

He could have just declined to answer I suppose which would have the been best from our perspective , but think he was just being polite
