It happens quite regularly with the wealthy. The rate of interest on late payment of tax is relatively low compared with the returns businessmen can make on the same money invested elsewhere so they often leave it as late as they can, in many cases being petitioned like this only to make the payment or come to an instalment agreement at the last moment. Most don't get as far as a bankruptcy petition but if they don't have the cash available it can get that far. He's probably done it more than once.

Didn’t Far Left Lineker do the same, you know the millionaire who wants us paying more tax do the same via a tax avoidance scheme, fucking hypocrite.

For those of you who are unaware.... he thought we shouldn’t still be free to buy players while the 115 charges sit unresolved. He used the “banned from trading until a verdict” comparison.
Fuck you Bernstein. Treacherous Twat.

Genuinely thought he was dead a while back. Surprised he has said this if true.

his exact words were:
"The fact they have done this (transfer spend) against the background of the 115 Premier League charges is extraordinary and makes a mockery of regulation in England's top division, supposedly the best-run league in the world.
He's criticising the PL and no-one else.
He also said
"Why the league decided to prosecute all 115 alleged offences is a mystery to me. Surely common sense (often in short supply) would point to simplifying the process by taking a handful of the bigger, clearer issues and pursuing these as specimen cases.
"Justice delayed is justice denied, and the longer this process is drawn out, the more the resulting implications and challenges are compounded."
He's basically saying the PL have gone for the sensational, rather than practical approach, and now seem to have bitten off more than they can chew, and that City spending is making the PL look ridiculous.
Nowhere does he suggest City shouldn't be free to spend money however they like (within PL regulations of course) while the case is unresolved.
Basically, like everyone else, he's just saying the length of time is unacceptable.

I read the dialogue of this Talkshite piece yesterday. Agree that he is having a pop at the PL in the main. I'm surprised more is not being made of it bearing in mind who is next up for us but it is only Thursday.
