So somebody connected with the case has anonymously told Ornstein and now every other outlet reporting it is just saying "sources" and quoting The Athletic. I'm also seeing that all the other pl clubs have been informed too. Would have expected City or tPl to have issued some kind of statement before that happened. Everything surrounding the case has been watertight so far. I'm not convinced this is legit.

Honestly? Couldn't give a fuck. I genuinely cannot stand what football has become, also don't really like where city are headed (and every other club for that matter) with how they view football and the future. I'll always support us even if we're booted to the conference. But the last 15 years have been sensational and no independent court panel can take away that experience from me. Fuck them all, fuck football. The entire thing is bent and is only eating itself into apocalypse.

Just on BBC news saying the league have limitless powers to punish City they are almost giddy. Time just right this isn't it during the break

Sky very cautious. Just saying it moves to appeal stage. Wonder which 'independent panel' will do that. Then there'll be sentence and appeal. Give it another 2 or 3 years.

But I thought if there was a leak, it all goes tits up?

"The club has diligently respected due process for 8 years on the basis that the club board and executive would behave as an independent, impartial and fair minded regulator, free from partisan influence"

This is the breakdown of the charges, which would appear to be in 5 different categories - none of which is a solitary charge. Yet they are reporting "guilty" on 114 out of the 115 charges? With no news of which one wasn't proven? Sounds like "slow news day BS" to me...

Club have literally just posted about Haaland being player of the month while all this is breaking - so looks like they’re not arsed about this story breaking right now

So - if this is true and we’re guilty, blah appeals appeals never the less - khaldoon and the board members involved need to go, which would be a bigger tragedy for the club in my opinion, he also gave *that* end of season interview, effectively putting our minds at rest, making a lot of us, especially me, look a right twat in some of my footie circles

I think the clubs statement is clearly facetious, knowing that the process has been very very far from independent, impartial and fair minded. All of this from a hacker (who has been convicted) selectively leaking emails that make the club look bad while withholding the full information that he took - which is pretty much the opposite of almost all other document dumps after a hack has taken place.

The most corrupt thing about this is the fact that these rules exist at all. Only being allowed to spend money based on your previous years revenue. No other sport (or business environment) has structured their rules this way. Even American sports leagues have a salary cap that applies equally to all teams, not only the traditionally less successful. All this talk of the super league being the worst thing ever proposed for the sport, yet England has had it's own super league in place since 1992 when the big 5 wanted a greater share of TV revenue for themselves. City broke into the oligarchy at the top, which clearly rattled them so much that they are looking to squash the club any way they can - even in the most blatantly corrupt way possible.

This combined with Palace, Villa, & Newcastle having to sell off most of their best players as soon as they start qualifying for Europe makes it very hard for anyone who loves the sport and fair competition to care too much about the PL.

It was Khaldoon's words that I was hanging on to. Like others have said, looks like someone has got giddy and shot their load early with this. The PL would be all over this so I will also wait.

Stefan Borsan seems to be lending a bit of weight behind the fact that the verdict might be in. Just listened to him on Talkshite and although he doesn't know, he's coming round to the view that all hell will be let loose and once the the decision is forced out into the open, reputatations will be slaughtered.
It doesnt sound good but this is what i expect over the next months.
Cant believe it took so long to be found guilty of all charges 'cept 1.
