If there isn’t news they create their own then comment on it, for their own argument and against it. Then the other papers pick up on that bs and report it was actual news when it’s mostly just absolute lies and bs.
I don’t even know why we really need the media anymore. Local source independent reporting would be the way to go.

Oh dear, how sad - never mind. Love that the ordsall quays branch of red shite OSC are keeping up the narrative. The other live text piece they are running is how the topic of conversation in the press conferences today will be the charges. No prizes for guessing the opening question in each and every one of them this week.
Don't phone, it's just for fun.

What is a huge minus for us, IMO, is that we have never had a major media outlet behind us.
I think we have seriously lacked that over the past decade or so. In fact, we have had almost the exact opposite. While other clubs have had powerful media ecosystems helping shape the narrative around them, we have largely been left to fight our own battles.
Over the last six months or so, I’ve been paying more attention to The Athletic, for example. They are owned by The New York Times, which has had links in the past with the group that controls the criminals. And if you look closely at their coverage, even when it is wrapped in gold and presented as sophisticated journalism, it can still be absolute shit. They have constantly pushed the narrative that the red clubs, Arse and Bin Dippers, are doing a fantastic job. Last year, they were endlessly pumping up Wirtz and telling everyone how brilliant he was, while much of the football world was laughing at the hype.
But what really showed their colours to me was an article they published last week, or the week before, as a free “gift” article. No paywall. And it was basically a beautifully packaged version of the exact agenda we have been hearing for years: how fucked we are, what we have supposedly done wrong, and why our model is fundamentally flawed, all delivered through that pseudo-intellectual, supposedly objective tone.
And that, to me, is exactly what we are missing.
We need a media institution capable of building, defending and explaining our narrative over years. Because if we start doing that now, we are already 10–15 years behind. For a decade or more, the dominant narrative around us has been “oil club”, “cheating machine”, “financial doping” and everything that comes with it. That narrative has been repeated so relentlessly that it has become accepted as fact by a huge part of the football audience.
And that is why I genuinely believe the 2018–2023 generation of our team will never receive the respect it deserves.
But because nobody spent the same amount of time, energy and institutional power telling the world just how fucking good they actually were.
Because, sadly, we learned that what happens on the pitch means fuckall.
