Official Premier League Games (10/04/10 - 14/04/10)

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Spot on, Slim. We could be 7 points clear and the pressure, I am sure, will take its toll.
Beat the Scum at ours and grab a point at the Arse and the job is probably a good 'un.

Pompey up now. That would put our UEFA Cup hopes in jeopardy, should we not qualify to Champions League. Fucking hate them Spuds but they need to win this.

Don't worry mate, Pompey can't play in Europe next season. (correct me if I am wrong!)

Of course they can play in Europe. Why wouldn't they be able to play there?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Uh huh, not sure if you are being funny here so....uh huh.

What do you mean? And no, I'mnot joking. Them winning it means they'd go to final and would surely emotionally drain them when it comes to crunch matches for reaching 4th. And then there's the UEFA Cup part which I mentioned. It's still very much possibility both Villa and Spurs would get past us.

We're going to beat both of them at ours and they've got to play catch-up for the first time this season. Our form is the best it's been all season. It's looking very good.

Banned from European competition for financial reasons (unpaid money on transfers)- that's my understanding. Not 100% on that, so correct me if I'm wrong.

I think they haven't got a European licence because they haven't filed their accounts. I'm not sure how easy it is to apply for the licence though.

Have I completely missed something? I don't think UEFA's new "finances ruling" apply until 11/12 season, so I don't see any reason why they wouldn't play in Europe.

They've chosen not to play in Europe next year.

If this is some elaborate joke I don't mind falling for it as I'm too hungover to care.

Just confirmed by 5live - Pompey ineligible for Euro competition due to Admin. Nothing to do with any new rules.

Okay in short...
1. we won't finish 7th.
2. FA Cup runner up no longer gets a EUROPA spot.
3. Pompey are in administration and therefore were ineligible to put in a European registration.

Where'd you get that? That certainly wasn't the case when FA Cup kicked off this season..

Anyway, reason number three seems to be confirmed so I stand corrected.

PLAY UP POMPEY...... and do them bastards!

I'm genuinely happy for their fans.

And especially because it's Spurs! Palacios banned for the games against Arsenal and Chelsea as well.

The main reason for wanting Spurs to win would be them having their minds on the final rather than the league.

Pompy have won now anyway.
