As someon pointed out earlier. Could he be the answer to our midfield problems?

I think he possibly could, but i'm not sure we could get him :(

I would also throw some extra pennies in for Cahill and Rodwell.....

No way will Everton do business with us in the near future. Not a chance.

Quite the opposite. The Lescott transfer proved that regardless who much we piss someone off, money talks.

He'd be a great signing, exactly what we need.

Exactly the type of player we need, but there is far better out there. I'd rather an in from Stevie than Arteta, but I know we can't depend on that for now, so I'd sooner go for Gourcuff.

Agree 100% mate, I really believe Gourcuff is the answer to our problems! Throw £15-20mil at bordeaux and get him!

Madness, utter madness. To compare Ireland with Arteta, that is. The two players are worlds apart.

Ok, I'm going to admit it. I've been readin that over and over again for a minute and don't get it.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Sorry, I'm not getting you mate?

Ireland from last season pulled the strings in midfield, got stuck in and broke up attacks and had a killer pass on him, as well as finishing.

Arteta does all that to a certain degree, but I'd prefer Ireland from last season to him now.

Yeh me too. He's an amazing talent. We should try and move for him before the world cup. Before he makes himself a house hold name and ups his value by 20million

I'm saying that I believe Arteta to be a top class footballer who has performed consistently well in the Premiership for a few years. Everton's upturn since his return is no coincedence. I don't want to slag Stevie off but I just don't think the two of them are comparable. Worlds apart.

Look at my OP again chief.

I'd rather Stevie from last season above Arteta any day of the week. There's a difference between performing "consistently well" and being nominated for YPOTY. I agree Arteta has been better than good for the last three of four years, but since Ireland matured, he's had one outstanding season and one pretty shit. And he's only 23.

Who would you rather, Ireland from last season or Arteta from any one season he's EVER had?

Just looking at his wiki - when he was the same age as Stevie is now, after being fucked off by Rangers, he was struggling to get in the Real Sociedad side.

He came good after that, having done less than Stevie had by this age in a top top league.

I'm not saying its gospel, but getting rid would be a travesty at this stage and comparing the two AT THIS STAGE is not the madness you're trying to tell me it is!
