He is a fookin lazy fooker, though!! He seems to really badly lack in passion and honour. I also get the impression that he thinks he is too big for the club. Sorry, just the vibe I get from him..

Look at the Arsenal game, he was fookin awesome. He didnt do that for us or the club, he done it for himself. Now it looks like he cant be arsed!! Even in the massive games.

He is not lazy. A player that good who has scored that many goals at this level cannot be lazy.

Really not the kind of striker we need! But I fear Mancio won't find any club able to pay a big salary to him, and so ...
From Torino, Italia to Manchester, Lancashire this City is always our City!

I don't think he's deliberatly lazy, he has a relaxed vibe about him. He puts in a similar ammount of effort to Drogba IMO and noone complains about his workrate.

When he's up there with Tevez and when he's on top form Craig, he's always going to look like he's not working hard.

As for his game, I think he has the potential to be unplayable. But theres something missing from his game. I think our lack of creativity in the middle of the park hampers his game, he's doesnt get many balls put infront of him. But when he does, invariably good comes from it.

Whilst he looks like a target man, he isnt really a target man.

We have a target man sitting on the bench in Santa Cruz, and whilst he's been less than awesome this season with injurys and form, one thing he can definately do is play with his back to goal and bring players into the game.

He's got arguably the best first touch in the Prem - jaw-droppingly good. That goal where he took it in his stride from over his shoulder behind him with one touch then a placed bullet past the keeper - absolutely unreal. I just wish he would do it more often.

He has a languid style but will score goals, I would keep him and see how it works out when we get a real creative midfielder. His first touch and close control is sometimes outstanding.

25 league games, 14 goals. Better than 1 in 2 striker.

Nuff said.

Ade's a talented lad & to say he's lazy, like some do, is unfair but he doesn't link up particularly well with anyone at this point & doesn't 'put himself about' enough. Crouch scoring for Spurs midweek was the icing on an absolutely fantastic performance. He caused us more problems than two Rooneys & was the difference between the teams. He scared the shit out of us & made Ade look impotent.

I doubt if he'll play many better games or be anywhere near that good very often in the future but for me, if he played like that regularly in our forward line, I wouldn't give a shit how many goals he scored, because we would win most games against just about anyone. Ade could be just as effective but hasn't got the mentality to do it. Doubt he'll learn it now.

Ade will score goals but I'm not sure if we'll find a way of playing around him that's best for the team (we haven't so far with 2 managers) & we may need someone else. Wenger couldn't do it either. Hope Mancini can because Ade has awesome ability but I'll be surprised if he keeps his place throughout next season.

(Robinho also scores goals at a decent rate, as did Rodney Marsh).

The OP is well over the top! If anyone was expecting Adebayor to graft away like tevez, they were kidding themselves. The guy has phenomenal ball control and a finish as good as anyone. Who would you replace him with anyway, Torres who spends all his time injured. The truth is we've got our own Torres/Rooney/Drogba with Tevez and if Adebayor can chip in with 15+ goals a season on top of that I'm happy. The guy is so loveable, to me a player so suited to our club it's unbelievable. He'll trot round doing fuck all for a bit then score a goal we'll be talking about for weeks. Also when people have a go at strikers for not working hard, what exactly do they expect? Slide tackles from behind? The thing that does worry me is that he and tevez don't have much understanding together, and if that hasn't gelled after a full season it could be time re-think that partnership. My main criticism of Ade is that he never wins anything in the air which for a player his size is ridiculous. Maybe if there was a better than RSC waiting in the wings it would inspire Ade to try a little harder on the pitch???? But who is good enough to do that and also content to be third choice...

Ted, the Rodney Marsh mention made me think.

My first City match was at his debut in March 1972. Marsh was a brilliant player. He scored goals. He was a fantastic entertainer. But he upset the balance of the Team (some claim he lost City the 72 title but I don't go down that road, although he was a contributing factor. )
I think that to a certain extent Adebayor is of a similar ilk to Marsh.
Ade is a sort of happy Anelka ruthlessly effective when he wants to be but doesn't want to be enough.
The city team IMHO need someone who is more integrated.

I like Ade.It seems to me that if a player smiles whilst he plays he is seen to not give a fuck. That seems very far from the truth. And although I think penalty taking is a brave thing to have to do for any player to me it is one of the easiest ways a striker will increase his goal tally. Without the pens Carlos has taken this year(6 I think) his goal scoring is not much better in the prem than Ade.
I think Ade is better striker than Carlos. The rest of his game I dont think is but I think his ability to score is.
This charge that is levelled at him by some that he is lazy and couldntgivafuck is incorrect from what I see.
