Give us Lucho González and Taiwo and you got yourselves a deal. Or Hatem Ben Arfa and some dosh.

Ben Arfa is even more of a cunt than Robinho!

I would compare him to Bellamy more than Robinho. Cunt he may be but he is a quality player. Only available anymore BECAUSE he is a cunt. But if Mancini is looking to bring in Balotelli, then dealing with Ben Arfa will be like walk in the park.

But like I said, Ideally Lucho and Taiwo.

Didn't realise Robinho had got 5 goals in 11 games for Santos in the EL Mouseo Mickeyo League. Impressive. Almost as good as Tevez' scoring rate in the Premier League.

City eye Brazil ace Luis
Stuart Brennan

May 12, 2010

Manchester City will try to shore up the left side of their defence with a bid for Brazil ace David Luiz.

The Blues have been tracking the 6ft 2ins Benfica star for some time, and face stiff competition from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

But manager Roberto Mancini has identified the 23-year-old as a major star of the future - and he likes the fact that Luiz, principally a central defender, is also comfortable at left-back and as a defensive midfielder.

Benfica have been bullish about keeping hold of the £25m-rated Luiz, especially as their Portuguese title win at the weekend, means they will be in the Champions League, easing their financial problems.

They have been citing a £43m release clause in Luiz's contract, which still has two years to run. That fee would eclipse the world record for a defender, held by United's Rio Ferdinand.

Luiz has been likened to Ferdinand. A Brazil Under-20 international, he is tall, athletic, quick, good in the air, not afraid of a tackle, as well as being composed and a decent passer of the ball.

He may immediately be seen as the solution to City's weakness at left-back this season.

City are already close to strengthening the right side of defence by bringing in 6ft 3ins Germany international Jerome Boateng from Hamburg for £11m.

Benfica Stars Fund

Benfica say they are in no rush to sell Luiz, and want him to stay for at least another season, but they could fall foul of their own fund-raising initiative, the Benfica Stars Fund.

The Portuguese side set up the Fund last year to raise money for investment by selling "shares" in their greatest assets - 17 of their players.

As a result, Luiz is 25 per cent owned by supporters and shareholders via the Fund - and they are intent on making a profit when the player is sold on.

If a club makes a healthy bid for Luiz and the stakeholders want to sell, Benfica would either have to go along with the sale or stump up a quarter of the £18million at which the player was valued when he was "floated" in the Fund.

The problem is that the Eagles are over £10m in debt and would struggle to raise the cash.

Luiz has been a revelation for Benfica, and his central defensive partnership with his countryman Luisao has been a key factor in the club's drive to their first league title for five years.

Signed from Brazilian side Vitoria five years ago, Luiz has played 84 games for Benfica and has scored four times.

He is on the brink of the Brazil squad for the World Cup, having picked up 24 caps for the country's junior teams, but is only expected to be on the plane to South Africa if more experienced stars are injured.

How about Hamsik and Ozil. That would be amazing!

And sadly De Rossi is Roma to the core, he's going nowhere unless Roma force him out!

Him too???? AND Ribery?? Please tell me Ribery deal is still on like you told me the other day. I got his name on my knob now and it hurt like hell. Honestly, don't think I could do Schweinsteiger.

Roma have rejected an offer from Manchester City for midfielder Daniele de Rossi.

La Stampa says Roma have turned down a bid of £37 million from City for the Italy international, but have left the door open to further negotiations.

City have been told to come back with an improved offer.

Concerning for Roma is that De Rossi has been made aware he would earn almost £8 million-a-year should he make the move to Eastlands.

£37 million rejected but we could offer more??? Is he really worth it?

to all d fuckin muppets here i cant blame you as u have become deluded with the misery hangin on for so pretty long and i guess some of you scouser twats couldnt accept last year if we were to goin to get tevez till the shit boomed in front of your eyes.now i will get with the rumours :

torres bid is at an advanced stage since he is waitin for approvals from the lfc management for sound investment in the squad and wants assurances before the world cup but its a long shot and he knows chances are slim .Morever the deal is believed to have a walkaway clause if city doesnt get into champions league next year .Torres’ relationship with manager Rafael Benitez has reportedly soured and the 26-year-old could choose to stick around for another season if the Liverpool boss leaves this summer.Chelsea will not bid him since city are reportedly going for a 50 m bid and there are no options for him to move to spain since barca have zeroed on villa .
some other rumours doing rounds :-
Cristian Ansaldi (DR)– Rubin Kazan – £4m
Jerome Boateng (DC)– Hamburg – £11m (will be finalised this week)
Mario Gomez (ST)– Bayern Munchen– £21.76m
Yoann Gourcuff (MC)– Girodins de Bordeux – £18.5m
mario balotelli(FW) -inter £ 28 m
Marek hamsik - napoli £25 m
mesut ozil - werder bremen £ 25 m

Misery? Who's miserable, i for one am very happy with things these days, i think everyone is. Pretty odd statement there mate. Also its a city site mate, no scouse fans here ;P

Also very nice summation of everything we've already read on torres from the mail, sun, star, ect, which we know to be bullshit and speculation.

Carry on your fine work sir and also if tolmie or millsy rubs his dad's balls and gets a vision of the future let us know. Cheers.

Iv never seen this Luiz but if he was worth anything like the fees reported he'd be in the brazil squad & also be the first name on the teamsheet.

The fact that he's not even likely to go to the world cup says it all.

Yes. Amongst one or two others, he is the player I would most like us to sign. Top player, defends, creates and is a proper leader. Just what we're after.
