Don't think they're too happy to be honest...

If Jimmy goes I will give up on football I truly will, my season ticket will be put back in the post and I`ll cancel my direct debit.

It makes me sick that this second rate Football Club with a "Sugar Daddy" can flex it`s financial muscle like this, no it`s not jealousy it`s the soul of football they are single handedly destroying.

Who the f**k are Man City and what have they ever done in English Football?

And to think I was having a great week, Gareth Barry saga x 10

And they definately would not do the same if they were in our shoes.YEAH RIGHT WHAT A BITTER TWAT HE IS.

Bitter is defo the word. If they could do the same they would.

Get milner in i say. £30 million.. peanuts!

Fantastic.

The sugar daddy quotes are brilliant as well seeing as Lerner is technically propping them up as well.

A different kind of player to our other wingers, plus he was productive from the middle of the park too last season which is a position we may have earmarked for him.

Not fussed about the price, thats irrellevant these days almost.

as usual, agree 100%. Milner might not be a top, top class player, but he's a very good player in multiple positions. Can do the box to box role well, and scores goals.

I definitely want this to happen.

Milner can play either in the centre of midfield or on the wing and has been improving year-on-year since he first burst onto the scene.

Milner and Barry in centre mid next season would work well in my opinion.

Nick wrote:WELL based on all the shit he has got right in the past (I dont go on bluemoon that much though!) I would say he knows a fair bit. As nothing had been announced today and he keeps harping on about either gerrard or another big player, with hints of stalling I thought he was a bullshiter.

He has got many things on the money in the past. BUT other things haven't come off. For example, people have broken that we were talking to terry and Eto and that we bid for Madriga. But these deals didnt happen, so whoever breaks the news looks like a mug.

Im confident we have made signings and it does look good. I believe we have been in for Gerrard, but then if he says no (personal opinion is that hes stalling) then Tolmie looks like a bullshiter.

It seems like we are approaching a couple of big players and they want gurantees that others are signing (ala tevez).

Tolmie knows nothing mate, don't get sucked in.

Its well known he actually stole his "terry exclusive" off of this site, off of one of our own legends last summer.

Do not trust him, i read his stuff last summer.. half believed he knew stuff for a time but it doesn't take long before his "deals stall/ fall apart/ blagh blagh blagh"... he's just the typical billy bullshitter!

I know its boring without any solid news on signings but believe tolmie at your own peril! That guy will keep you guessing about nothing forever!

Not really that impressed by Milner who could be seen to be Villa's Ireland, ie one season wonder.

However Grob is right, the price is immaterial to us but it is funny to see the utter hypocrisy once again at our sheer temerity to actually bid for a player. To hear some of these Villa muppets tonight along with Moyes and Everton's continual whinging, you would think we were the first team ever to bid for and try to buy another teams player.

How did Chelsea get success - they bought it. Believe any of the hype shite you want but Man U's team is built around expensive purchases and not homegrown talent. City are merely doing what other teams have done for years, but because we are elbowing our way in the press and others don't like it. However they have a word for this situation in Russia - toughskis.

This could work well in a side finishing 5th or 6th. Does James Milner in midfield challenge for a title? I don't think so, but I hope I'm wrong

compare him to Darren Fletcher... these are the type of hard working, underated, no nonsense players that it makes sense to have in a top team/squad... no qualms from me!

I think he could. He's only young and players in teams who are already challenging for titles are less likely to come to us.

We have to face reality that we cannot buy the best players in the world just yet, but we can buy younger players who will develop into the next generation of title winners.

Players like Toure and Bridge will not win us titles. Players like Adam Johnson and Milner could...

Well Villa fans will be pissed off but this news will piss them off more coming off the back of Lerner saying that they'll have to sell to buy. City will overpay, no doubt, but instead of O'neill bringing in 2 or 3 he can now possibly bring in another couple. We had all this with City not so long ago but they'll move on in time, if it happens I hasten to add. If Newcastle wasnt such a basket case of a club he might well have stayed there, so he's not exactly Villa through and through.

daily mirror...EXCLUSIVE by Neil Stripeyshirt "CITY RAPE VILLA" the dirty anti-football thugs at City are once again pillaging through the homespun shortcrust pastry waltonised villages of our lovingly cherished upper second tier of the smarties premiership with their almost unbearable Atilla the hun like foraging tactics which threaten to de-stabilise things and lead us to almost anarchy as seen in the election whenever. lou Macari says "Shocking. Shocking.". Everyone is shocked and hurt. How can people who support City not in some way feel shocked and hurt and guilty that they besmirch our game and smear tar over it? People are crying(picture of person crying) people are losing houses just like that and African children starve, but lets not forget, THEY CAN'T PROVIDE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOOTBALL..so there"

The mail I have is that Gerrard has been using us as a bargaining chip for a move elsewhere.

Fuck Villa!

They're the worst fuckin fans in the league. Constantly moaning and booing and abusing their own players and team. Support your players and maybe they wouldn't all leave you every summer! Can't stand them.

Milner will be a top signing. Hope we get it done.

Decent squad player I suppose but not one to get excited about. Yawn. I'm tired. Think I'll have a lay down.

OMG did you see the chick on the bike in the half time Lakers-Suns game?

Milner is in exactly the same bracket of a quality as Toure and Bridge. All three have had great seasons and all three are above average/good Premier League players. None of them are title winning quality though.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
