Agreed he would be a sensational signing.Would the incoming Mourinho really be willing to let him go?
I cetainly hope so, the thought of himself and Tevez tearing defences apart it would potentially be the best strike force in the league.

I have to say im impressed with todays transfer news although its only according to the sky sports sources.
If these sources are correct im very happy indeed with the type of player Mancini is targeting.Like Dzeko hes very young and has already established himself as a great player.

Sounds as though we maybe have some kind of agreement in principle with the player?

It is a dangerous game we are playing if that is true though.

Exactly what I was thinkin. It did cross my mind that it might be him thats holdin off if true. Just hope its bollox

There is absolutely no way that we will get Higuain... first of all I sincerely doubt Madrid would be stupid enough to sell their best goal scorer and second of all I am not convinced that he would want to come to us, sorry. :)

Rags are a tad peeved about this :-D

From redcafe

Stop squabbling fellas, we're all just pissed off that a shower of shite like City - who've won nothing for 34 years, and can't even offer CL football can 'enter talks' with a player of Higuain's quality, it's a bloody joke.

Meanwhile we're sat with a cabinet full of trophies over the last 5 years and a crippling debt!

No wonder we're all pissed off, but let's not take it out on each other.

Ha ha that shower of shite still view us as a shower of shite ? They really will have to take a closer look behind them next season if we manage to pull off any of these signings.

For me he's a combination of Crouch and Viduka. Very skilful for a tall player. The fact he's scored every time he's played the rags makes him a legend in my book.

I have seen him go missing in games but when he's on he's a real handful.

Not according to this, if we are the only bidders:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... -move.html

With AC Milan priced out of the running for the 24-year-old and Chelsea’s interest in the player also on the wane, City manager Roberto Mancini appears to have a clear field in his attempt to make the prolific striker his first signing of the summer at Eastlands.

Despite reports in Germany on Thursday night that City had begun talks with the player and his advisors, senior City officials are understood to be waiting for Dzeko’s buy-out clause to expire at midnight on Monday before making a formal move.

Vieira's extended City break Mancini’s interest in Dzeko, who has scored 56 goals in 94 appearances for Wolfsburg since arriving from the Czech club Teplice in 2007, has been confirmed, but City are confident that they can secure the player for less than his current price-tag once his escape clause runs out.

Mark Hughes, Mancini’s predecessor identified Dzeko as a target last summer before ultimately moving for the injury-ravaged Blackburn forward Roque Santa Cruz.

Dzeko was also monitored by Manchester United 12 months ago before the Old Trafford club completed the free transfer signing of Michael Owen.

Dzeko impressed in his two Champions League appearances against United, however, with goals in both encounters.
