It expires on monday. People have been trying to fit that to their own agenda since it was first mentioned. I guess only the people who've seen the contract truly know when the exact deadline time is.

Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Serious question. Have we actually got rid of anyone yet because by my reckoning, we're gonna have a 48 man squad next season?

I think we'll bring in who we want first then get rid of people rather than potentially being left in the lurch.

Contracts end on 1st July normally, so nobody's officially 'released' until then.

Even Benjani??? I know there a few who are out of contract such as Benji, Petrov, Sylvinho, Vieira etc, but there are still far too many on the books witht the likes of Jo, Boj, Big Phil et al coming back. Just seems wierd that we don't hear much about these players moving on, or is it that they are that shit we'll never find a suitable buyer?

McLaren stated that there is a clause, or rather let it slip during a live interview. (Seeing as how as he is a management god and not really someone who relies entirely on his Ass. Man and coaching staff)

awww i forgot about big phil i want him back. and i want to see him in a city shirt again he's a rough diamond. the boj wil have suitors no doubt parma will want him back (though i would like to see him play for us i know it ain't gonna happen though), but i don't think even someone as insane as steve mclaren would take jo god knows whats gonna become of that lad. still think he has potential, but he is trouble.

im getting the feeling that this Dzeko thing is a pile of bull.

im also getting the feeling that nohing much is going to happen before the WC is over.. as we discussed in the cook in spain thread.. too much hinges on Real as top of the pecking order.. and now Bourinho has moved there it will certainly slow things up while he chases Chelsea players and the like.. non of which is likely to get into motion before the WC is over.

And here was me beleiving them when they said they wanted it all wrapped up before the WC starts. I thought this was going to be an interesting couple of weeks, instead it is like watching a non-stop video of your favourite nosh being offered to you but told tea time has to wait.. and the whole thing on a daily loop.

i blame Bourinho.. not only does he bore us to death on the pitch he somehow manages to conspire to bore us all summer

I only wish "bourinho" would come and bore me at City, as it must be terribly borong winning things year after year after year after year after year etc etc.

Anybody who wouldn't have him at City is either an idiot or doesn't want guaranteed success.

I must be an idiot then. I honestly don't think that we're at the stage whereby he needs us or more importantly he would be the right manager for us.
I'm not saying he isn't a brilliant manager-probably the best-but first we need to qualify for the champs league and get ourselves into a position where we can challenge Chelsea and the Rags for the title.
Once we've reached that phase THEN would be the time-possibly in a year's time- to bring the special one in so we can progress to the final phase ie winning the title and hopefully the champs league.
In the meantime let's get behind Bobby and trust him to bring in the right quality of players to challenge for a top 3 place and a trophy(or two!) this season.
Come on City!!!!!!

But if you listen to what he says about RM you could apply that to the scum in a few years if things go as we hope whereas if Mancini delivers next season the big challenge here has gone

I really dont think mourinho relishes a challenge. The only challenging situation was porto and he spent alot of money. Chelsea, Inter and Madrid are hardly challenges.

My bet is hes not as confident in his own ability as he thinks to come here. And that would be WITH an open cheque book. Then again, pressure would be immense at the rags, living in bacons shadow and not as much money.
