1311: We can confirm that Theo Walcott has been omitted by Fabio Capello. Meanwhile the plot thickens below as the Northern Echo suggest Manchester City winger Adam Johnson is not in the squad either, while NOTW's Neil Ashton is now saying Shaun Wright-Phillips has made the final 23.

If you had a choice, AJ or SWP who would you pick? No brainer for me on current form.

SWP is the one out of the 3 I WOULDNT have taken. Who knows what goes on in a football manager's head

Giovani Dos Santos is considering quitting Mexico's World Cup squad following the omission of his brother Jonathan, according to the players' father.

It's all Sky Sources so far mate, but in truth I would prefer Shaun to the other 2, he has experience and somehow always seems to play well in Internationals. Theo has been gash and AJ was always a shoe-in for the 30 and has been given valuable experience; wouldn't want to see him doing a Theo in 4 years time would you?

well SWP has experience at this level.
is flexible and can work centrally also
has scored a few classics by running the wing and going for goal
definately edges Walcott on providing an end product ( which tbh doesn't say a great deal )
has reasonable defensive capability, which Walcott doesn't seem to have at all.

From Oliver Holt at the Mirror on Walcott: "He received a phone call from Capello this morning while he was on the golf course and told the bad news of his surprise omission."

That's spoil your game ;-)

SWP has got far more experience playing for England. Imagine if Johnson went ahead of him yet made one crucial mistake in a Match. He'd be the Boo Boy and it'd shatter his confidence.

Actually, I wonder who will be the Fall Guy in the World Cup for English this year. Manager? Referee? Defender? Heskey?

Hi Garry,I just wanted to shake your hand and ask you a question.I go to COMS as mucha as possible but sometimes I cannot leave the house as Sophie.....sorry..Sophie is my Cat...... needs a carer when Im away and sometimes I cannot find one.

It's quite amazing that Barry is key to Fabio's squad, I just wish he could play that position for us.

SS Sources: Baines out, Warnock in. Wasn't Hughes supposedly in for him?

Edit: They're saying Baines gets homesick.
