My wife is a Barca fan, so I've seen him a lot, and IMHO he's very good. Guardiola favoured the home grown Busquets, but I think Toure is better. He's versatile and was excellent when covering CB, but is also good going forward. I suspect people don't want him coz they don't like his brother. He's a definite improvement on De Jong.

But that's the general debate isn't it - do we need that sort of player? Barry is our main deep midfield man, and we all saw toward the end how he is better without Nigel using his space. So if we get the front midfield playmaker/box-to-box man (or two) then Nigel will be mostly back-up I would say.

So I dont see where Yaya would fit in, and I don't see we need to replace Barry or DeJong as such in the squad. Kompany can also run about in there.

Of course Mancini may think different and maybe he wants all 3 in the squad as we are down on midfield players. Maybe he's Vieira's replacement?

i'm disappointed we're this far into a player thread and there's no youtube vid yet ... this place has changed ...

on topic: I really like yaya toure, and for people thinking he is overrated, etc ... He's a strong, physical, mobile midfielder. That can't be taught. (ps I also don't think he is overrated)

God I hope not. If we replace 3/4 of our backline all at once...well I hope you like another year in the Europa.

Good signing if it's us and I can't see it being anyone else.

If this isn't a "transfer rumour" then I don't know what is.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

"If everything goes well, Yaya will go to England," Dimitri Seluk told Ona FM.

"But we can't talk about definite clubs. We already have a closed deal, and all will be resolved before the World Cup."

The Yaya thread was moved back into the transfer rumours thread mate. All you seek is in there.

What's the point sending out a statement that he's signed for 'an English club' and not naming the club?

I wanna know how many la liga games the people who reckon yaya is over-rated actually watch - he's a fucking good solid defensive midfielder who can also play the box to box role perfectly well - an excellent foil for Barry imo
Silva on the other hand flatters to decieve quite often and I don't think he'll make it in the prem - I'd prefer Joe Cole
Also him fucking off in 3 years, he'll be 30 then, so thats about right !

Just because we have players good players in certain positions doesn't mean they are good enough or quite the style of player the manager wants for his preferred system (s). If he is an improvement on what we have ( which he almost certainly is) then we should sign him. We might need players in other positions more than this one, but with our money, that shouldn't stop us signing better players.

Does anybody remember what he, or his agent, said about us last time we were linked with him? Did he say that he fancied a move to City back then?

In order of importance:

Then we need a new right winger so johno can go play on the left.
Then we need another 20+ goals a season striker.
Then after all this we need to change the buns on the hot dogs inside the stadium because there stupid. Even if this means making the hot dogs smaller.
Then we need to add more tomato sauce thingies because there always empty

Then after all of those things have been sorted maybe we might need ANOTHER fucking over priced la liga reject/defensive midfielder. Also we need to get rid of his fat slow ass lazy cunt brother.

‘La Liga reject’. IMO he is much better than Busquets and Keita. Wasn’t there a rumour that Barca were not playing his as much because if they did they would have to pay him, or his previous club, a considerable amount of money?

I feel I need to correct you on a couple of your points:
1. He is actually a box-to-box midfielder who has been asked to play as a DM at Barca
2. Kolo is many things but he is not lazy or slow

I would like to see him brought into the club. A definite upgrade on any of our midfield and IMO he is one of the top 10 midfielders in the world.

RE the 20-goal a season striker, do you want one more in addition to Adebayor and Tevez?

my take is that the agent is playing games with Barca.. i think this is the same agent that slagged of Laporta the other day, but im not 100% sure about that. Either way it seems pretty daft to announce this and not say what club. The only scenario i can imagine is that if whatever deal is done there was something written in it that the club announce it and no-one else, on pain of death. So he says what he can and no more.

Anyway, i hope it is NOT us.
After watching him play for Barca he doesn't seem right for us. The only thing i hope is that if it is us, then as i didnt see him play for Monaco, he is better than he appeared for Barca. People have mentioned that he has played a different role for Barca.. more defensive. While at Monaco he was more the attacking mid. So i should give him the benefit of the doubt and wait and see.. if indeed it is us he comes to.
